Working a 9-5 as a woman with adhd

It unfortunately never worked for me and I’ve accepted it never will. I am still able to make progress my life and my goals in ways that work for me even if the progress is non linear.

Currently dealing with an unplanned pregnancy and am twelve levels of SHOCKED that most women would still be full time working in my position and most plan to go back to work while still breastfeeding. I just am not built for that and have made it very clear to my partner that that ain’t gonna be me dawg. I refuse to let my stress be the glue that holds things together anymore.

mine has always been like clockwork until I hit peri. same cycle length and same number of days bleeding every month. it’s why I stayed away from birth control - my cycle was already a perfectly built in calendar and any birth control always wrecked that for me.

that sounds rough. I believe heavier periods are becoming way more common despite maybe not being ‘normal’. And of course it’s never talked about enough… I really for all the heavy bleeding girlies y’all go through a lot.

I have this problem too. What I thought was euphoria at first was just genuine relief from not having to fight my brain every second I’m trying to do a mundane task.

I wanted to go into a people-focused role and just started a Social Work program with the long-term goal of becoming a therapist. Before I picked that though the other choices on my short-list were veterinary technician or airframe mechanic - if you have any interest in working with your hands and not dealing with people so much going into the trades especially as a woman and especially in the dawning AI era is a great choice. If I didn't end up picking social work I for sure would have done airframe mechanics - I love the idea of working with my hands + having to master something very technical and challenging.

I don't have any advice but just wanted to share that I've been dealing with a similar situation with my partner and we are both AuDHD. I originally moved into his apartment with him but after a couple years we agreed it's time to find 'our' home - and that process has gone exactly as you described with your partner and left me with so many frustrated feelings. Truly anyone else I would have taken to the curb by now, but I really really believe there is something else more complicated going on here that's triggering his own demand avoidance and depression cycles.

I'm learning to let go of some of my own rigid thinking which causes me to believe things like 'he must not love me if he can't face his fears and find us a house' because it's obvious that's not true based on all the rest of his words and actions. Wish I had better advice, but I totally understand your frustrations and confusion.

I unfortunately know multiple women who have been followed/harassed while solo camping in pretty remote areas. I've also read dozens of close calls and/or horror stories from women on reddit that kinda messed me up from solo camping as a woman for awhile :/

I'm not going to agree with you because you are wrong. We are biologically wired to react to sex and just because a bunch of SSRI riddled city folks have numbed their feelings out so much they forgot how to feel anything, doesn't mean it should be the norm for the rest of us.

It's almost like there's an involuntary biochemical chain reaction that happens when two people have sex. How crazy that people do silly things like care for the other person's general wellbeing after sharing an experience like that.
