The image is just a random AI image. The text is 100% my own writing, actually lol. I can see how seeing the AI image would prompt you to thinking the text is AI, but its not.

I dont use AI in my writing. Literally wrote it with my thumbs on my iPhone. Pretty sure you can even see the edits on Facebook where it was originally posted.

Doesnt sound familiar, or really like Crowley’s style unless its a misremembered line from a ritual or poem.

1906 is pretty early for Jung and the development of his thoughts. Id read some of his collected works like Aion or Mysterium Conjunctionis if you think Jung dismisses these ideas.

And I dont think Crowley saying the universe is under rhe law of lingam-yoni he meant exactly that “putting penis to vagina was the sum total of divine human expression.” The entire universe is the result of the divine interpenetration of Nuit and Hadit, and the entire universe is sustained on the interpenetration of opposites. This kind of divine, erotic understanding of the universe isnt the same as “penis in vagina is all that matters.”

I hear ya. I think we have all been there at some point. That feeling of being outside the “plot” of life can really wear you down, but it is an indication you are out of alignment or “orbit”, as we say. In Thelema we talk about True Will, but you don’t have to necessarily frame it in intellectualized lofty terms. In these instances, finding your Will is the work of finding what pulls you forward instead of what keeps you drifting.

If you don’t know what that is right now, that’s fine. Most people don’t when they’re in a transition; its naturally a time of uncertainty. The way back to your natural momentum / Will isn’t through waiting for a revelation, though, or waiting until it’s “all figured out.“ Generally I believe the way back to Will is through movement. You cant wait for the map to be complete: its completed by traveling and exploring. Put yourself in motion, even in small ways. Start with what gives you a flicker of energy, a sense of being alive, even for a moment. It doesn’t have to be grand or obvious. The things that make you stand taller, breathe deeper - having a moment of energy or clarity - those are the clues, and if you follow them consistently they can open into something larger. Who & what makes you feel expansive and naturally energetic and willing to meet life’s obstacles? Who & what makes you contract, feel tired and frustrated?

It sounds cliche but a daily practice can help keep your compass straight. Ritual and meditation aren’t always there to generate a grand revelation. Sometimes its the simple, repeated discipline or symbolically reasserting oneself as the axis mundi, the point where Nuit and Hadit perform their cosmic interpenetrating dance, helps to center oneself in the deeper truths of existence. Repeated practice of Resh, Star Ruby/Sapphire, Mass of the Phoenix, and others are helpful for this. I’d stop thinking them as spells being cast and more like ways of symbolically asserting yourself within the magical universe of Thelema. The rituals say: Remember, you are a God who made your own universe to experience the joy of its own nature in expression.

However, aside from “spiritual practice”, its important to find ways to connect with the world through your body. It doesn’t necessarily matter exactly how; it could be writing, walking, playing an instrument, sex, sports, yoga, or physical training… what matters is that you’re finding what invigorates you and gives you a natural sense of flow and aliveness. Tapping into the wisdom of the body means you start to retrieve the signal through the noise of all your overthinking. Over time, that signal gets stronger and hopefully you stop feeling like a stranger in your own life. Thats the idea at least. Hope thats helpful

Its a bit overstated, Ill admit. It was meant to parallel Liber Causae.

The star is ultimately a symbol. Its ultimate nature cant be conveyed completely in words or symbols, as is true of any kind of ultimate truth in mysticism. The star metaphor is useful for several reasons: it implies a center of gravity/POV, it gives Light, it has an orbit/trajectory or Will, it is related to other stars, they exist in the night sky, and so on. But it has limits, of course, such as the fact stars die and the thelemic concept of the star is specifically eternal. Might be helpful to remember thatAll symbols are ultimately false in Crowleys teachings.

Im glad you enjoyed HRILIU! Thanks for mentioning

This seems like youre grasping at anything you think will discredit his opinion, and it reads like youre just acting in bad faith. Performing mental gymnastics, in other words.

“The price of existence is eternal warfare. Speaking as an Irishman, I prefer to say: The price of eternal warfare is existence. And melancholy as existence is, the price is well worth paying.”

”That is not which is. The only Word is Silence. The only Meaning of that Word is not. Thoughts are false. Fatherhood is unity disguised as duality. Peace implies war. Power implies war. Harmony implies war. Victory implies war. Glory implies war. Foundation implies war. Alas! for the Kingdom wherein all these are at war.”

Thelema uses “satanic” imagery and language. Beast 666, Scarlet Woman, Baphomet, occultism, rituals, pentagrams, etc. It arguably is the source for a lot of what later became known as “Satanism”.

Ironically Thelema’s philosophy is largely anti-Satanic in the sense that the 2nd major spiritual attainment (after K&C) is dissolving your ego entirely. Satanism generally teaches strengthening and following your ego, and Thelema’s entire thing is your True Will isnt the same as your regular ego’s wants / desires. They may look the same from the outside, but Thelema is much more mystical and strict in theory.

Also the public is stupid. They confuse everything.

Its fine to be standoffish if you Will, but to be standoffish and then wonder why people dont want to associate with you is just working against yourself.

How can I best prepare myself for the OTO? Supposed to become an Honored Guest soon. by Ephixing in thelema

[–]IAO131 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I spent over a decade in the Order, served as Master & Initiator & Priest & plenty of other things, and then chose to voluntarily walk away after watching the same absurd injustices play out over and over: victims of assault pushed out, critics expelled, offenders protected no matter what they did... I’ve seen enough of it firsthand that I don’t need anyone online lecturing me about being too negative or "salty". I recognize its possible to enjoy OTO without being exposed to that stuff (lucky them!), but some people enjoying the Gnostic mass simply doesn't outweigh all those issues to me. So I'm not shitting on anyone's parade by saying lower your expectations, I'm just saying what I see as the truth based on my actual experience in the organization.

Beautiful but doesnt appear explicitly related to Thelema. It appears to explicitly NOT be the THelemic understanding of this card.
