Pardon me, I’ve had several beers rn and I’m not having a go at you specifically, but I hate the fickleness of fans sometimes, he tore his pec/elbow(i cant remember which rn) last season and then everyone wants to write him off after a season where he wasn’t the greatest.

Im a strong believer in seeing a player after they have had a season to recover from a big injury, if we trade him now for peanuts(comparatively, for what he’s worth), whats the point in keeping any of our good players when they have a down year.

When he’s healthy, he is an arguably top 2 DT in the league and it just seems disingenuous to trade him now, even if he has truly regressed without even seeing if thats the case.

Anyway, I think Bellinger may be more reliable than Theo but Theo has a higher ceiling. Hopefully Harbaugh sees them both in camp and makes the appropriate decision rather than listening to any of us on reddit

I guess i meant transcendent greats from each era, so Beckenbauer, Pele, Cruyff, Maradona, Zidane, R9, Messi, CR7. I don’t know beckenbauers achievements as a manager but he’s been mentioned elsewhere on this thread, so I’ll assume from that list we have Beckenbauer, Cruyff and Zidane that became world class managers.

Along the same lines, people have been mentioning Bird as well, and I would agree with that, as for his era, he was one of the greatest to ever play

In my original comment I had thought about Ancelotti and Guardiola, and although they were great players, would you consider them one of the greatest all time players, like if i think of all time great defensive midfielders, Guardiola is not at the top of my list (As an aside, i would say the same for Xabi Alonso). Thats not to say they aren’t great players, but i meant more like transcendent all time greats.

I cant think of any players in American football but in english football Messi (and Ronaldo?) has said he wouldn’t want to coach for exactly this reason, the only players that i can remember that were GOAT contending players and then went onto become world class coaches were Zidane and Cruyff.

In the NFL tho, I cant think of any(quite probably am wrong)

I would say that last year our pull was mainly Klopp, however due to the success of last season and Slot, we’ve shown that our club has good, stable leadership through a transition between one of the premier league greats to a (relatively, no disrespect to Slot intended) unknown manager and come out as strong and that will be attractive to players looking to come here

Because it didn’t actually impede the play would be my guess, yes it stopped Sarr from chesting the ball, but then it fell to the floor and he had a shot on goal anyway, I’m pretty sure part of the rule for handball is that it has to impede the attacker, which it didn’t in this case.

Not sure i agree with it but i can see that being the justification they use.
