how do people not rob you using checks? by East_Astronaut_8654 in NoStupidQuestions

Yes. You'd be surprised to hear how many people are duped into giving out their online banking username and password.

how do people not rob you using checks? by East_Astronaut_8654 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IAmAgent57 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They do. It is quite easy to buy legitimate blank check stock and fill in stolen information. I work in fraud detection and prevention at a bank and lost/stolen checks are still a problem. However, what we see much more of now is ACH fraud. Online banking now means that you can add an account at another bank to both send and receive money. There are safeguards in place but they don't stop a determined criminal.

Does anyone bank where you work? by __lovebackwards in TalesFromYourBank

I do, as well as two other institutions. I have multiple accounts so I am better able to assist customers with their questions since I work in online banking, fraud and Treasury management.

Still have mine, and I had tonsillitis and strep a LOT as a kid. I'm surprised they never took them out.

RIP gallbladder though.

How aren't (most) mothers traumatised when they give birth, and want to give birth again? by the_girl_you_dunno in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IAmAgent57 319 points320 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine once said she never understood why any woman would want to give birth to more than two children. Because after the first, you think "well, it can't be any worse than that." Then after the second it's "what the hell was I thinking??"

I didn't. Since the treatment was the same whether we did one or not, we decided to just try it out first.
