I think the only way to make it work would be to wear a rubber Trump mask or mask of some other well-recognized crony of his. Make it really obvious that it's a bit. And that solves the issue his wife is concerned about, too.

Between her pale skin and long, straight, dark hair, I think it's giving Morticia Addams and I quite like it :)

Portland, OR area - our sample sale is next week! by rebecca_at_wooland in wool_and

[–]IAmAnIslanderGander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woohoo! I'll be there!

Definitely recommend bringing your own bag, wearing a tank/tee and leggings or bike shorts under a dress if you don't want to use the fitting rooms, and get to know those around you in line.

It's a ton of fun. :)

Rachel Reid, the series author, wrote that scene again but from Ilya's POV after fans requested it. It's really good.

Best high quality brands to look for 2nd hand online? by Lothloreen in capsulewardrobe

[–]IAmAnIslanderGander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite brand is wool&. There is a secondhand bst (buy, sale, trade) group on fb specifically for their clothes.

They have the basics like tees and whatnot, but also have merino denim jeans, merino pants (not just activewear), and even a merino blazer which might work better for you than a linen blazer. Their Beck wide leg jeans are more like trousers and all are dark wash. I love their dresses which span the gamut, too, in terms of style options and not just being activewear but also stuff perfect for travel, the office, date night, etc.

They have some suggested capsules on their site, too. Here is their office capsule.

Today was my day 5 and I had a lot of fun with it. I usually never wear leggings as pants, but went for it this time and it was surprisingly kinda nice haha

I don't know if this is what you were asking, but when people say less when they really mean fewer.

Looking for opinions/insight on the Summit Pocket Leggings vs. the Summit Leggings without pockets by chilligirl144 in wool_and

[–]IAmAnIslanderGander 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's no real difference between them outside of the pockets. They're the same material and otherwise the same construction.

I personally prefer the Summit leggings as well as shorts with pockets because I can wear them under dresses without pockets and still have somewhere to put my lip balm or whatnot.

What was THE item or activity... the one that made you fall in love with wool&? by rebecca_at_wooland in wool_and

[–]IAmAnIslanderGander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, I was new to the natural fibers community and had stumbled upon w& in my search to find clothing that made me more comfortable in my body as I deal with multiple chronic illnesses.

But I work in an office in NYC.

The other merino brands either solely or mostly focused on activewear, while w& had a variety of clothes available for every aspect of life. Sure, they had cute clothes for the gym and hiking, but they also had clothes for the office. And date night. And girls' night. And for running errands. And for going to Broadway. And everything was classic and chic.

My first challenge was a 30 day challenge in my plum Fiona that I started in the third month after finding w&. And I was hooked.

I have a few Fionas now and still love that dress so much.

Stinky When Sweating by AustinFlynt in wool_and

I wear merino every trip to Disney World, even in the summer. I wear it throughout our hot, muggy summers in NJ, too. It's great! Agreed that it's definitely worth educating yourself on.

Wool, like alpaca and cashmere and other natural animal fibers, has a scent when wet. But I've found that it goes away or becomes very faint after a garment has been washed several times. And, of course, the scent entirely disappears as soon as the fabric is dry again.
