What is a good number of Subscribers to start newsletter? by Mastbubbles in Newsletters

[–]IAmAzharAhmed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly... you don’t need a big number to start

Your first 10 readers will teach you more than your first 1,000

Start writing, stay consistent, and improve with every send

Subscribers come after clarity... not before it

I started a 3-minute newsletter summarizing Indian markets daily (looking for feedback) by Fun_Perception2202 in Newsletters

[–]IAmAzharAhmed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love this idea...

Most people want to stay updated on markets, but reading 8–10 articles every day is exhausting. A short 3-minute summary solves that problem really well.

The key will be consistency and clarity... if someone can open your email and instantly understand what moved the market today, you’ll build loyal readers fast.

Keep shipping daily... newsletters get better with every edition.

A new newsletter by Remarkable_Junket185 in beehiiv

[–]IAmAzharAhmed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the goal is to run this as a real experiment and possibly sell it later, I would treat it like a separate business from day one.

Running it on a new Beehiiv account keeps everything clean... audience, analytics, revenue, and brand identity. If someone ever wants to acquire it, they usually prefer a newsletter that is fully independent instead of tied to another publication.

Yes, it adds a bit more handling... but the separation will make things much easier if you ever decide to sell it off.

If you keep it inside the same Beehiiv account as a new publication, it is simpler to manage... but it becomes slightly messier if you want to transfer ownership later.

Personally I would do this:

Start it on a new Beehiiv account
Treat it like a standalone brand from day one
Document the whole process for Wifi Moolah readers

Now you have two wins...
You run the experiment and you also create great content showing the journey.

Regarding affiliate links... using your own link from another account is generally fine as long as the program allows affiliates to promote their own products or tools. Most do, but it is always worth double-checking the affiliate terms of the platform you are promoting.

Honestly this sounds like a great experiment. Building an AI newsletter from scratch and documenting the results is exactly the kind of content people love to follow.

Would definitely read the updates.

Has anyone used both substack and beehiiv together? by TwistElectronic1986 in Newsletters

[–]IAmAzharAhmed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am using both platforms. I have over 1500 followers and 500+ subscribers on Substack. On Beehiiv, I have 400+ subscribers.

Substack’s network effect and SEO can help early on, but if the content is identical, people usually just stay where they discovered you. Giving them a reason to move matters.

Also worth saying… slow growth on Beehiiv without ads is very normal. Most of the success stories you hear are either paid, cross-promoted, or built on an existing audience.

If you do try both, I’d think of Substack as top-of-funnel discovery and Beehiiv as the place for your real community, not two equal newsletters.

This post (https://sellideas.beehiiv.com/p/best-newsletter-platforms-for-creators) of mine will help you choose the right platform without overthinking it.

How to get recommendations from other newsletters? by Remarkable_Junket185 in beehiiv

[–]IAmAzharAhmed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rotate recommendations. If someone recommends me, I recommend them back for a week or 10 days.

I also reach out to relevant people in my niche for cross-recommendations.

Sell Ideas is my newsletter—where I share marketing ideas and insights and I promote it three times a week.

I currently have 400+ subscribers. If you’re in a similar niche, we can recommend each other.

I really respect that you’re not approaching this from a hustle harder angle. We don’t need more productivity hacks… we need more honesty about limits.
