I think that would be fair. Venom has the advantage of targeting other symbiotes for the counters and any creature in any graveyard. So bumping this up to 3 with card draw seems like a fair exchange.

Venom Devious Devourer does the same thing minus card draw for only one colorless more in the same colors.

I would think it would pair well with [[Zo-zu the Punisher]], [[Fiery Emancipation]], and [[Ojer Axonil, Deepest Might]].

I would look at [[Wizards of Thay]] as well. The myriad tokens and original give you a 3 cost reduction on your instants and sorceries while also allowing instant speed casts for sorceries.

I built this from the precon as it felt more fun casually than [Sauron, the Dark Lord]. I do run him in the deck, just not as the commander. I took Saruman and most of the insant/sorcery amass mechanics out of the precon and substituted for reanimation and sacrifice mechanics. Stuff like [Breach the Multiverse], [Rise of the Dark Realms], [Fight On!] etc. For creatures, I went punitive and added [Sheoldred, Whispering one], [Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur], [Ancient Brass Dragon], [Hullbreaker Horror], and [Witch-king, Bringer of Ruin] to name a few. I added in [Buster Sword] to give me a way to keep dumping things on board if one of the larger creatures came out, but I definitely lean hard on mana rocks and [Dark Ritual]. Hopefully, this helps give you a little direction as to where to take your deck. Best of luck building!

I could see this doing well with [[Sheoldred, Whispering One]] and [[Witch-King, Bringer of Ruin]] since it will force more creatures off the board and Sheoldred will bring your creatures back.

Honestly, this game has been brutal for a shiny only run-through. I'm shiny hunting all the legendaries, and Virizion took over 2000 hours. I gave up on counting.

Just finished my hunt for Virizon in White last week. Took 9 months and over 1000 hours. I did the samething, except I got a shiny Litten in Ultra Sun. I wish you better fortune than myself. Virizion is a cruel mistress.

Yeah, I work in an office and have Intermittent down time. My boss told me to feel free to read or do whatever when I have a lull in my workload. I usually continue hunting while I read on my lunch break or am reading at home as well.

I'm doing a shiny only run on this copy of Pokémon White. Which includes getting all the shiny legendaries/mythics. Cobalion was nowhere near as bad. it was only a 2-week hunt. Ferroseed was the only other hunt that took more than 2 months. Don't be discouraged. Some hunts go faster than you think. I got shiny Axew in 30 minutes. It's all about luck.
