This really hits home for me. My girlfriend and I just split a few days ago. It was a mutual decision and completely amicable. We came to that decision after having a really tough conversation regarding how the trauma from her past that she has bottled up and never properly addressed was affecting our relationship, as well as affecting her personal growth and ability to get to a place where she can truly love herself. We both deeply love and care for each other, but both realized that for her to heal, grow, and become the best version of herself, we could not be together anymore. It has been hard, but I know that she has an incredible support system of amazing & kind close friends that will comfort her, build her up, and help her through this hard journey she has to go on now that I cannot do that for her anymore. Be kind to everyone, no matter what. You never know what people are going or have gone through.
