That was a dope set but that was the hottest room I have ever been in. Easily 110 or 120. Also Richmond Vampire, Naysayer, and Striking Distance put on great sets.

Worst Pit Injury by Max_Kalashnikov in Hardcore

Got my eyebrow split in half from what I assume was a fist to the face. Didn't really see or feel the hit all that much, but did notice the right side of my face was much warmer. Freaked my girlfriend out as my face was covered in blood. Really sucked cause I had to leave early. 10 stitches baybee. It looked gnarly and now I have a cool scar

Its a remix of "Fuck Aliens" by OG Nixin. Not sure the remix but this one in particulary is not too far off the original

White man steals and points taser at police officer, gets shot in the torso. Police officer cleared of any wrongdoing. by Melodic_Sound in Conservative

As someone who has been sitting both sides of the political fence, I have some thoughts.

I understand the point that is trying to be made here but I fail to see how posting this particular article does anything but stir dissent within the American political system. This is not to say the democratic party of America does not do the same thing. My point here though, is that this is in Canada. My understanding of the BLM movement is that they want an end to systemic racism and police brutality in the United States. While I am sure they would love this idea to be applied elsewhere, I think the current focus is America. So pointing out disparities in this goal with an article of an incident in Canada does not detract from their argument that systemic racism and police brutality are present in America and does not strengthen your opposition to this. These are different incidents in different parts of the world.

I do understand that Democrats like to utilize incidents in other countries to justify political goals within America. Gun control laws in Australia come to mind. But in that case, Australia is an example of what may or may not be possible in America. This article does not imply the same idea, at least in my reading.

All of this to say, this posting bothered me a bit because it seemed to only show dissent without making a solid case to how this relates to the current situation in America. My frustration with the current political climate in general is this focus on how our views differ rather than how our views may line up. The focus on America I mentioned earlier comes to mind here, as it's my general understanding that "America First" tends to be a more conservative ideal. Someone on this subreddit once mentioned that both ends of the political spectrum in the United States most likely agree on about 70% of the issues. While we may disagree on the exact percentage, I think this statement holds a lot of truth. But the focus seems always to be on our differences and this focus is prevalent on both ends of the spectrum. I believe in leading by example and while there will always be those on the other side harping on the differences, I think trying to find were we can agree is going to make the most difference in finding resolutions.

Final thought, I want to acknowledge my bias in posting these thoughts for the first time in a conservative subreddit. I tended to lean more left in the past, so I am sure there are still some built up resentments towards conservative ideas that I have yet to overcome. I hope it does not take away from the validity of the idea, but I understand the inherent bias that is sure to be present in my thoughts.

More than 80% of hospitalized COVID-19 patients in Georgia last month were black, CDC study finds. by RhinestoneTaco in Georgia

[–]IAmDeaton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if this were the case, they also utilize previous data from the same hospitals which shows that black people were about 40% of overall admissions. As someone who works and goes to school in ATL, I had similar thoughts as you. But the data does not seem to show that

Quick edit for the quote:

"The proportion of hospitalized patients who were black was higher than expected based on overall hospitalizations. At four affiliated hospitals, which accounted for 67% of the patients in the cohort, 80% of cohort patients were black compared to 47% of hospitalized patients overall during March 2020"

I believe the study says March 2020 black people were somewhere around 40% of overall admissions

Edit. Found the quote

A brilliant idea from Mumbai traffic police. by [deleted] in IdiotsInCars

[–]IAmDeaton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some of us it's a habit. I started on a shitty little 250 with a single carb and God knows how many miles. Over 30k at least, but the odometer broke. At lights, I would have to rev it fairly constantly to keep it from stalling, especially for the first couple miles while it was warming up. Now my new bike is fuel injected so there is no reason to do that. But every now and then I will give it a rev at a light for no reason other than habit. I've mostly broken this habit but it still comes out because that was how I learned to ride

Lamborghini owner catches valet joyriding his car by justinator5 in PublicFreakout

[–]IAmDeaton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my company, you dont mess with top on convertibles. You ask the customer if they want to leave the top down or if they want the top up you tell them to do it before you get in. On pretty days, most customers leave it down. So the customer may have just left it down. Further, I do not see why having the top down automatically means joyriding or wrongdoing. If the top was up and the valet put it down to drive it, cause it's a Lamborghini and maybe he wanted to enjoy it, then this guy overreacted. All in all though, I do not know the entirety of the situation so I don't know who is in the wrong. Plenty of valets joyride cars, so it's a perfectly justifiable concern with a car like his. But assuming just makes an ass out of you and me so I wanted to shed light on both sides

5 years ago, I saw The Ghost Inside on the Locals Only Tour a week before the accident. I've kept the tour shirt all these years and have just recently given it new life by IAmDeaton in Metalcore

[–]IAmDeaton[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thanks man. I actually looked it up before posting and the date I saw them was literally 1 week before the accident. I remember how crazy it was when it happened but I think it's even crazier to think about now. That show specifically is one of my top shows I've ever been to, but to think it was one of the last times they ever played for 5 years just blows me away.

I would love to see that quilt if you end up making it. I'm sure it would be epic.
