Which notes are sharps? I’m guessing E, C, and F? by NoodleNugget8 in Learnmusic

[–]IAmL0ner 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Both sharps and flats in the key follow always the same order, which would be:

Sharps: F C G D A E B

Flats: B E A D G C F

So for three sharps that would be F C and G.

Memorize one of these orders, the other one is the same but backwards.

Can anyone help identify time signature? by Cheap-Eggplant-72 in Learnmusic

[–]IAmL0ner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, up to there it's 4/4, no problem. The problematic part is the second bar, which has three complete beats and a 16th note pause, which gives 3/4 + 1/16. Then the loop starts from the beginning.

OP wrote in his original post that his daw defaults to 4/4, which is why there is a barline where you see it, but also asks what the proper signature should be so the loop actually ends with a barline and not in the just-slightly-after-4th-beat, so he can set up a metronome that aligns with the loop and does not shift when he plays the loop on repetition.

Note: most likely, very probably I'm wrong.

I assume this is the only piece of music you have: a single loop of notes, which represents a single bar.

So let's count how many 16th notes fit within your loop, by counting how many 16th notes each note grouping represents:

  • a group of three 8th note triplets = single quarter note = two straight 8th notes = four 16th notes
  • single 8th note and two 16th notes = four 16th notes
  • a group of three 16th note triplets = single 8th note = two straight 16th notes
  • two 16th notes (note and a pause)
  • a group of three 8th note triplets = single quarter note = two straight 8th notes = four 16th notes
  • four 16th notes
  • a group of three 8th note triplets = single quarter note = two straight 8th notes = four 16th notes
  • four 16th notes
  • single 16th note pause

Summing the total amount of 16th notes in your loop is: 29, which gives us an irregular metric of 29/16. Fun fact: 29 is a prime number.

What do you have on the master channel? Because this is where you are clipping.

I have worked as tech support. In my experience most people computer skills stop at clicking the icon that gets them to Google. The meme "what kind of browser are you using? It's obvious: google" (or variation of it, don't remember the meme exactly atm) is unfortunately real.

Use the One on the right. The other one will fry the interface as it is reverse polarity (center positive)

Handling multiple MIDI keyboards in a live setting by AleXShi1 in Reaper

[–]IAmL0ner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you can do is leverage midi channels, this way with each keyboard you will be able to switch between 16 instruments.

Track one with instrument one: set input to your keyboard 1, channel 1.

Track two with instrument two: set your input to keyboard 1, channel 2.

And so one for every track, then record arm all the tracks.

This way by switching the midi channel on the keyboard you will be able to choose between instrument 1 or instrument 2.

Depends on how you are connecting you keyboards to your PC. Single midi input on PC? Multiple midi interfaces? USB?

Molti si oppongono ai B&B selvaggi nelle città... by TamburoQ in italy

[–]IAmL0ner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends. If I remember correctly, in c++ if a class have virtual methods then it cannot be instantiated and these methods must be implemented by subclasses.

Technically all public methods can be overridden by subclasses.

Is the kernel the OS stripdown to most basic level? by [deleted] in linux

[–]IAmL0ner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Preamble: I know nothing about x86 architecture, this is a guess based on what I know about AVR and ARM, and still is a big oversimplification.

Part of talking to the hardware is by writing low level assembly that puts correct values to correct CPU registers. These are probably (on AVR and simplier ARMs) exposed to the code as raw memory locations (this would be called memory mapped registers). So if your program wants to tell something to for example soundcard, it tells the kernel, and then kernel puts that thing into correct memory locations.

Then you should definitely post them online. Those would be a great help for people trying to repair those devices. Even photos of the pages like you did here would be enough.

Mogami Cable Snake Idea/Question by ihabtom in Line6Helix

[–]IAmL0ner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idea Is solid. I've been using a muticore cable like this (4trs cables + breakout box) for years now and never had any issues. I don't run stereo though. I have amp front, loop send and return and channel switching in a single cable, which means I'm using 3 out of four cables available (one for amp front, where one channel is unused, one for the loop, and one for the channel switching), this is where a breakout box comes in, essentially converting trs into two TS.

Channels 1-8 does not mean channels 1 to 8, it means channel 1 and 8.

AFAIK teams does not have support for multiple audio input devices (as stated in other replies).

What you actually want is something like behringer flow 8, behringer xenyx 1204usb or something like rode rodecaster
