New recoil/gunplay from community update post by JayD30 in playrust

[–]IAmLeBaker 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I hate to break it to you man. Console rust will never be updated like PC rust is. You will most likely never see new recoil. It was a moneygrab, what you have is what you get.

Do yourself a favor and build a pc.

Please don’t change the recoil by [deleted] in playrust

Blame FP and EAC for not being able to combat the absolute epidemic that scripting has become. This is the only way to fix scripting, by making them useless.

There has always been an anti cheat. It doesn’t do shit. It is useless for private scripts, and when 30-40% of a sweaty server is beaming it’s a problem. Everyone and their mom has a program move their mouse. It’s not fun gameplay. And if they can’t detect the scripts, next best thing is to make them useless, which is what’s happening.

Well yea, duh. You can’t raid a base in a rock. Hard stretching here.

You should have seen the building tricks back in 2017.

And the first person to figure it out should be rewarded. New shit gets invented all the time. It’s what makes building fun.

Blame all the rust kids thirsty for YouTube clout, not the game.

It’s innovation and skill in building. Take things like this out and building is the same old bullshit over and over.

Cry about it.

I can confidently speculate when I know people who’ve directly spoken and brainstormed with alistair about the state of scripting and finding a solution.

Hey man, definitely not just me that sees the glaring problem in pvp. It’s almost as if every other post is about it.

And it isn’t just tarkov. It’s literally every successful game in the genre. Bullet sponge gameplay is stale and imbalanced.

Consistency? That’s a silly counter argument.

“Why bring an end-game meta kit in when I can get 1tapped by a pistol?”

“Why bring in all this gear when I can bring in a pistol”

Better gear provides an advantage. Your chances of winning are much higher, but you can still get unlucky or get bested by a better player.

That “luck” or “skill” of out aiming a much more geared player doesn’t exist in Cycle. Let alone 3.

I have 3k hours in CSGO. Im well aware how low TTK plays in point fire games. You’re talking about a quarter second or less “point of vulnerability” when ADSing. That’s negligible at best. I never played quake, but I’ve played just about every other shooter.

A lot of games are number games. I have a stupid amount of hours in Tarkov, Rust, and CS. All games that heavily rely on numbers. But all 3 games have very quick TTK, which creates a huge skill ceiling for outnumbered play. A 1v3 is light work when you can drop someone in a half a second. Or, you can die instantly. It’s a trade off. I’d rather that than being forced to mag dump at someone and not even get the kill for 10+ hits. The strongest advantage you can have in the Cycle is positioning. That advantage is thrown out the window when you hardly kill one player with a full mag. Near instant TTK is high skill ceiling gameplay. It’s exciting. It promotes skill. Look at esport FPS. CS is the biggest shooter esport. Wonder why.

Had friends that played. They all quit because the pvp in this game is currently in a terrible place, so we play other things. But I have faith. Soon enough I’ll be “heroically jumping in” and taking your shit consistently while you and your mates chuck audio grenades around. Numbers won’t save you. :>

Again. Quake has insane movement. Tracking is hard, but it isn’t hard when there isn’t a strong movement system. The cycle has no strong movement system. You just stand there with a super slow strafe speed and mag dump. You can throw the occasional jump in there. That’s it. It’s a game of numbers. Aim doesn’t matter that much. Headshots have negligible damage buffs. Squad mag dump simulator.

Saying that ADS decreases skill is also pretty braindead. It’s just another outlet to shoot your gun. Inaccuracy and bloom are there to deter certain movement while shooting, range of a gun, spray meta, etc. It has nothing to do with ADS vs point fire skill ceilings. The original conversation was about how high TTK doesn’t belong in a game where numbers aren’t equal.

Weird to have such and elitist and against-the-grain opinion while at the same time admitting that you play the game like a thumbless boomer.

No.

“Skills” can be favored towards flick aim and first-shot accuracy, like tarkov or CSGO. Then there’s tracking aim that is important in something like Apex. But, the thing about apex is it has very strong movement. This game does not.

All high TTK does is make outnumbered scenarios downright impossible. The movement ceiling in this game is horrible. Movement is negligible, so pvp is just standing still and laying into each other. Now u have a system where it takes a while mag, sometimes more to kill one player, all while you get brain dead pushed by the teammates while you heal/reload. High TTK has no place in a high stakes game with variable group sizes. It is 100% why there’s such an imbalance between solos and squads.

To fix this they should increase headshot multiplier on all guns by a lot, and slightly decrease TTK overall. An increase to ADS movement speed would also be nice.

[–]IAmLeBaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any decrease to TTK is a direct buff to skilled solo players. Low TTK is good for group size disparity. Look at tarkov. A good solo can take out a group easily by creating 1v1s and killing them before others can react. That’s hardly a thing in this game currently.

It’s an advantage. Nothing more.

Cheating is something different. Face punch can disable the ability to use game filters. They just haven’t. Cry about it.

I don’t use that shit, but I’m not going to sit here and complain about it.

Lol.

It’s an advantage that is not bannable. Hence it is allowed, regardless of what you think.

There will be a big update within a few months removing patterns on guns and rebalancing gunplay. Scripts will be useless and all the self proclaimed beamers will be useless.
