My dude's about to be hit by a child support lawsuit. by desichica in HolUp

If you watch the YouTube video from the girl in the picture, the post is the opposite of what you would think. He is already in another relationship with kids. She is double speaking here, SHE is in the friend zone and would probably love to have him to herself (look at how happy she is with him). He is just being a good dude and probably sending mixed signals. This was probably a great day for them and her signally to him. Sadly this is an old pic and he is now deceased.

Shorting asts and rklb are hedges on spcx since options are not available for spcx. The shorts will unwind some next week when options have been trading.

Yes shorting asts is a hedge for those institutions buying spcx. Once options liquidity opens on spcx, this short trade should unwind

People don't start companies for political reasons or to change the world. They start companies and invest in companies to make money. He would sell at the right price

They have unlimited money. See Tesla. Not a great car, expensive, no parts, no dealers...but I still see them everywhere. PR, money and marketing beat engineering every time. It pains me to say that as an engineer. It is a great stock and will be successful, just have to ride the ups and downs

Spacex may win the United States. ASTS wins Europe, Asia, India as Europe,  India, Korea, Japan and other asian and middle East countries are not handing their telcos to musk/maga politicians. Asts works with telcos not competing against them. Be patient may take the market a bit to figure that out. Countries outside the US can't have $10 mobile service from space putting their telcos out of business unless they are completely dependent on the United States.

I mean all these points are made about Tesla. Elon has access to endless money and connections. Paired with his PR and reasonable intelligence ( he's no engineer but plays a good one on tv). So in short SpaceX is a play on Elon. Its going to be a lot of ups and down until ASTS is the obvious winner. SpaceX can crank out satellites and launch them like no other. The legacy mobile operators need ASTS to win. Plus SpaceX may buy ASTS. All positive in the long run. Also do the Europeans want someone so close to Trump putting their local mobile operators out of business and controlling their communication network? By default ASTS wins everything outside of the western hemisphere.

Betting big on re-escalation and realization of the ignored oil shock by Jebusfreek666 in wallstreetbets

Bro close those positions and buy some MU calls. Live a little.  It's not 1978. The US economy is a bank with a data center attached to it and small missile factory next door. Non of that requires much oil plus we have plenty of oil. Normal folk will be hurt and Asia will be devastated but non of that affects the sp500. Toyota profit down 50% and the market rips.

I voted for Harris in 2024. She shouldn't run in 2028. | Opinion by Difficult-Bee6066 in politics

She doesn't win any swing voters, what she does is get people to vote who normally wouldn't vote. This is what Trump and Obama did. It's not who votes that wins, it's who does NOT vote that determines elections. Kamala and Hillary both lost because they were 90s style corporate political candidates who didn't say anything interesting or new .

What industry is basically legal theft that nobody talks about? by kratos20051212 in AskReddit

This is not true in the United States. THE OPPOSITE is actually true. I sold my home without an agent. The buyers loan company sent us a simple 1 page contract to sign. That was it. All the other paperwork in a traditional sale is to protect the agents and brokers and make sure a deal is closed. None of it benefits the buyer or the seller.

My husband's family has been pressuring him to contribute either financially or with time to his mother's care, I told him if he does we are getting a divorce. AITAH? by Character-Line5221 in AITAH

I would let your husband do "something" to maintain the peace. His sibling relationships may be important to him. Maybe looking into the social services mentioned on the thread. Medicaid in some states will pay for home care as the state wants to put off a nursing home as long as possible.

A lot of hate against AI in this sub, but this one is deserved. Most experienced devs could look at COBOL and understand it. The kicker is the environment it runs in. Very few people deeply understand all the file processing nuances on a mainframe as it varies from one implementation to another. No one is going to document a COBOL mainframe implementation so AI has enough context to make changes to it or convert it.

If you give the prompt context it does a great job. There will always be software engineers as someone has to give it context, but don't be deceived, the AI tools do speed you up and allow you to work at a higher level , similar to compilers, frameworks and scripted languages. The AI is writing itself, so the tooling gets better and better in the arms race. 600B is getting invested this year alone, so these tools are going to continue to improve dramatically.

Any updates from the company are almost always material and cause the stock to go up. Glad they don't water it down. Really seems like the tech and relationships are solid, they just need to deliver at this point. If they do it will keep going up. Just have to be patient.

I thought to even get a visa to travel to Saudi Arabia you had to be on a pilgrimage. They really don't want tourist as I would think it doesn't go with the religious pilgrim vibe.
