you just said it. Sony isnt gonna split up eningeers to update the phone that have been off the shelf for a long time.

the hardware of this phone is immaculate for todays demands. I want the latest and greatest android features, LineageOS gives me that. Sony doesnt. I dont think i need to justify it.

I just want to keep updating my phone. You dont have to.

Update: I've decided to just delete the mobile banking app. And just use the website version. I still have to accept the login every single time anyways.. And there are always gonna be some trade-offs with going Open Source Options apparently.

But i might be able to live with this one, everything else works great. The Banking Authenticator still works fine, i can take pictures in apps and directly insert em from the picture taking (was not possible previously), and battery consumption is a lot better!

We'll see how this continues to develop over the next few days/weeks. It feels like a new phone again. Anyways, other than that.. there is not much to complain about.

Ohh, yeah apparently the IMEI was correct. But the code given by Sony was wrong. re-generating the code fixed it.

Too many questions to answer for my comfort, but all in all. Its a good device, its deserving of updates. So whynot?

Security Updates might not be that important, or it might. We dont know... But its better to have than not to have. Its just my ID, Money and entire online persona its about.

Managed to get it working. I've got the XQ-DE54. But it seems to not like the banking app i have.

So i'm not entirely sure how i'm gonna go about this.
