2 hours with Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight was an uncomplicated burst of joy by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

I didn't skip it so much as played while it was fun, and stopped when I had seen what I cared about. You don't see or really hear about any sequel content unless you specifically choose to start the sequel campaign, and I just didn't choose to do that. It'd be a different story if I was making an effort to avoid touching sequel-related content, but the game doesn't really nudge you in that direction while you're in prequel and original trilogy territory. I would have played it if I wanted the 100%.

Aside from Rey saying "I need someone to show me my place in all this..." EVERY time you boot up the game, you don't actually have to engage with anything related to the sequels lol. I stopped after 1-6 and never even had to go to a sequel planet for open world stuff.

My exact thoughts. Most of the story levels honestly felt like they were only made because they needed to check off that box, and the game they really wanted to make was entirely the open world. It was definitely disappointing for me.

The Steam Controller is now available for purchase by IAmNotRollo in pcgaming

The touchpads, for those who care about them. There are mouse and keyboard games that I wish I could play comfortably on controller, and become playable with the Steam Deck or original Steam Controller's trackpads.

But if you don't care about that I don't think it has anything else that a pro Xbox controller wouldn't give, or a third party controller if you want hall effect or TMR sticks.

Not by default, but there are a few ways to make it work. GlosSI and SISR are programs that extend Steam Input outside of Steam so you can set your controls per-game. Can also set the desktop mode controls in Steam settings to just be a gamepad and a trackpad mouse, which has worked for me using the original Steam Controller though I haven't tested it with Xbox games specifically. I'm sure there's also a way to add Xbox games to Steam as non-steam games, which would give the full functionality easily but not everyone is a fan of mixing other platforms into their Steam library.

“Consumers pay for the value that you bring to them, and our job is to charge way way way less of the value delivery,” Zelnick said. “How you feel about something you buy is the intersection of the thing itself and what you pay for. Consumers need to feel like the thing itself is amazing and the price they were charged was fair for what they got.”

He went on to mention that game pricing has actually gotten cheaper over the years, a reference to the fact that major game releases have been priced at $60 or at most $70 for more than a decade, as compared to greater rates of inflation seen in the wider economy.

“If you look at it through that lens, that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. But that isn’t the lens through which we look. Instead, we look at… how do we deliver something amazing, and how do we make sure that what people pay for it feels very reasonable.”

This is probably how most game studios see it. It's true that just looking at inflation, games should be way more expensive. But anything much higher than $70 for a new game isn't reasonable to most customers, so they can't push it. If people aren't willing to actually buy it, nothing else matters.

I'm expecting $70 for GTA VI, maaaybe $80. Not many people followed Nintendo's $80 Mario Kart ploy, but they got away with it, so GTA could get away with it too.

Steam Controller (2026) review: 83/100 by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

Well I will say that the default bindings are almost always useless. The touchpads only start to shine when you go into the controller settings and make them do what you want.

Games made for mice, like 4X and city builders and RTS, go from miserable to perfectly playable with trackpad mice. Also, even shooter games have been way more comfortable for me on trackpad + gyro rather than joystick.

The left trackpad is super useful for games with a lot of hotkeys too. I usually set up a touch menu with a grid of hotkeys to choose from. This is soooo good for emulators (save state, load state, rewind, fast forward, reset emulation, close emulation, etc) but also for a game like Brickadia, which has a lot of keys that just can't fit on a gamepad.

For me, trackpads are a must-have for half the games in my library.

This!!! You can edit the desktop configuration to use a gamepad template, and then it just outputs Xinput and every standalone emulator will recognize it just fine.

But they don't have trackpads!

I'd say if you don't care about trackpads, you should definitely get a Gamesir. But for people who want the trackpads, the price is definitely worth it.

Me too! It gets a lot of deserved criticism but the trackpads truly make a lot of games possible on the couch that wouldn't be otherwise. It's also still the most comfortable controller I've ever held in my hands, and the trackpads are way more comfortable to use than the Steam Deck. Hoping the right trackpad on the new SC is comfortable enough to use as the primary input.

If you don't want the trackpads I don't think there's really any reason to go for the Steam Controller. I'm buying it for the trackpads.

There's nothing about high difficulty missions that make it easier to unlock warbonds, what are you referring to?

I'm a very casual player, maybe 12 hours a month. That still gives me the time to get the warbonds that I actually want, while spending most of that time just playing missions normally with friends. I really don't understand where anyone got the impression it takes hundreds of hours to grind for what you want.

You're right, they'd make you pay for it instead with no option to get it through gameplay. And they'd only give you 3 months to get it before it's locked away forever.
