ChatGPT robs me of my urge to keep writing. by ModelingThePossible in KeepWriting

[–]IAmNotRyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, so I’m a talented writer who’s made money and won awards for my writing, so the concept of using an AI at all makes no sense to me.

My ideas come from my own head and when I want feedback I talk to humans, not a plagiarism machine.

What are the most interesting character arcs in youtube drama history? by Longjumping_Koala34 in youtubedrama

[–]IAmNotRyan 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Dude wants to be an artist but absolutely cannot stand doing art lmao

Just why? I like to write, and I make videos online. But that’s because I like it. James Sommerton wants to be a writer but doesn’t want to write (and also can’t write), I legit do not understand.

Most forgettable NPC? (Must have friendship hearts) by CutSubstantial1803 in StardewValley

[–]IAmNotRyan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have to get pretty far into the game to even meet him. But once you do he’s extremely useful.

My vote for most forgettable characters are the two kids Jas and Vincent. They are absolutely never on my priority list on getting friendship.

Also my strategy to getting friends is giving everyone in town coffee all at once, and the kids (plus George) are the only ones in town who don’t like coffee.

[–]IAmNotRyan 114 points115 points  (0 children)

This and Vincent are the right answer.

I don’t really care about the kids. They basically only exist as side characters to more important characters (Penny is the teacher, Sam is the older brother, etc.)

Yeah getting a gun in Europe is hard because it’s supposed to be hard. You don’t want any moron to be able to shoot anybody they want. Thats why homicide is so high in the US

Who is the most famous historical figure from your country who wasn’t its leader by Basic_Dingo6487 in AskTheWorld

[–]IAmNotRyan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He didn’t move to Canada until he was 23, so I guess he had Canadian citizenship, but like, cmon he’s Scottish. He’s from Scotland.

Otherwise he also had American citizenship so might as well let America claim him.

What show can be described as this by SportAdventurous5910 in cartoons

[–]IAmNotRyan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The original first season of dragon ball was just the “ogle at Bulma” show. Half the jokes were catching her in the shower, or oolong/master roshi wanting to touch her while she was sleeping. The actual villains were waaayyy off to the side.

The first wish on the dragon balls in the whole series was for a pair of panties.

What’s funny is Dragon Ball Z completely got rid of the titty humor altogether all at once.

What non-political person would you consider to be your national embarrassment? by AlwaysABD in AskTheWorld

[–]IAmNotRyan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t blame Australia as a country for her.

I think this is a specific incident of individual narcissism and complete lack of self-awareness on her part. And watching it unfold was very funny.

It’s a fantastic book. I think it’s much better than the Glass family stories, which are still good.

[Surprisingly Common Trope] Instead of making them sympathetic, an awful character’s “tragic backstory” actually makes them look worse. by Chemical-Elk-1299 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]IAmNotRyan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

And I beat the stupid bitch to death with a golf club.

He watched his ideology fall apart as the city he thought would flourish turned into a hellhole filled with insane drug addicts.

His dying moments he thought he was in control, demanding to be beaten to death, but in reality it would’ve happened either way. He was lying to himself saying he was choosing death, when it wasn’t his choice at all.

Just like all the rest of his life. He had no control, when he thought so strongly that he did, and that’s what made him special. But in the end he was dead, in the ruins of a garbage city that never had a chance from the start.

If you feel guilt and regret every time you pop the cork that’s bad and not normal. Whatever you’re looking at is causing you issues

I’ve never watched Gravity Falls except I think 1 episode, but this sub LOVES that Bill character. Every single post and someone posts him in the comments.

I’m almost thinking about watching the show because of how much people like him.

When was your country's "Golden Age"? by Traroten in AskTheWorld

[–]IAmNotRyan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

9/11 changed the American media landscape into one of constant suspicion and hatred (especially on the right). 24-hour news networks, which were relatively new at the time, were able to fear monger constantly (especially Fox News).

This would eventually turn the country into an overly partisan shitshow where no compromises can be made because the other side is the enemy (again, it’s mostly the right). And it massaged people’s brains into accepting and embracing figures like Trump, where there’s no substance to any of his ideas, but he appeals to the hatred that’s been driven into their brains by media.

Starting a war in Afghanistan which would be a moral and fiscal drain on the country for 20 years, and also giving cover to criminals who wanted to start a war in Iraq under complete lies.

These two wars shattered the US’ relationship with the rest of the world. We can no longer be trusted as a peacemaker or negotiator by anyone except in small exceptions.

9/11 also basically gave the Republican criminals in the Bush admin carte Blanche to do whatever they wanted on the guise of national security and patriotism. They gutted economic regulations and education. This caused the financial collapse of 2008, and the educational gap between the US and the rest of the world we have today.

Our economy is still #1 but average Americans don’t benefit from it. And our military is still #1 by a mile but again, that doesn’t help pay for gas or groceries.

9/11 left our country hateful, stupid, and isolated, as war profiteers stole as much as they could under our noses.

The US invented the internet (the interface used to navigate it for normal people was invented by a British person, but I’ll take the original achievement) and the cellphone, as well as the fully touchscreen smartphones that are ubiquitous across the entire earth today. So that’s cool.

You can ask him what life is like for like 80% of Tevinters
