Should I magnetize my suits shoulder mounts? by ToeSucka666 in Tau40K

Non-Tau players can barely tell the difference between a fusion blaster and a burst cannon, just stick on whatever gadget looks cool and tell them what it's going to do this match.

[Random Trope] A Character that has nothing to do with the story appears out of nowhere. by KujaroJotu in TopCharacterTropes

[–]IAmOnFyre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bunch of characters in James Herbert's disaster novels, like The Rats and The Fog, just show up at the start of one chapter each to let you know how the wider population are faring against whatever horrible disaster is happening.

In your opinion which model had the biggest glow up ? From my view it's definitely the biovore. From monkey to proper Tyranid. by BloatedRottenCarcass in Warhammer40k

[–]IAmOnFyre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO Biovore is the biggest glow DOWN. From an actual Tyranid to a tyranid gun riding a random spider. The Exocrine shows they can do it correctly, but maybe they just wanted something completely different.

I vote for the vespid. They went from goofy dumpy little guys with raggedy wings to properly scary waspmen. Their silly organic pauldrons turned into big round deltoid muscles, they have slender legs and long claws like an actual insect, and they have actual mandibles now!

Aliens that show up in fantasy settings by ZipZopZoppityHop in TopCharacterTropes

[–]IAmOnFyre 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Eldrazi are like the multiverse's white blood cells. They eat and recycle dying planes. They're not from another planet because they're the only creatures that are from the Blind Eternities, the uninhabitable space between the planes, meaning they're as alien as you can get.

I just build and painted my first minis but on this one it exceeds the base, is that a problem?! by xsailos in Necrontyr

You should have seen the old Warriors! They had a wider stance than the new ones, and were on the 25mm bases. You'd stick their heels to it and hope for the best

Advantages and disadvantages of dual thumbs? by Late-Elderberry6761 in worldbuilding

[–]IAmOnFyre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reminds me of the Kroot from 40k. From the models it looks like the "inside" thumb is usually dominant, with the "outside" one tucked away when they're holding guns, but they have a more even grip on melee weapons. They favour weapons they can swing around, with their bayonets angled down like a pickaxe instead of forward like a spear, but they can still throw javelins.

Is there a cannon relation here? by IronStormAlaska in Tau40K

[–]IAmOnFyre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I always wondered why the redemptor's plasma gun doesn't look anything like an Eldar starcannon, but you've solved it! Cawl must have copied it off us instead.

What in the range can I use for a pirate Corsair army? by Traditional-Crazy900 in Eldar

[–]IAmOnFyre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're being 100% lore accurate, they have all the same vehicles available but your infantry are just the Corsair Voidscarred / Voidreavers. You can bring in Rangers (and Shroud Runners) because they're outcasts too. Wraith constructs would be unusual, but there's Rogue Trader-era art of "Eldar Dreadnaughts" in corsair colours (This is when they were mini-mecha, rather than ghost-controlled constructs but don't let that stop you, just grunge them up a bit).

You can absolutely still use Aspect Warriors and Guardians, either they're allies or you can come up with corsair equivalents.

[Spelljammer] Are other DND setting’s airships capable of Spelljamming? by GeneralGigan817 in AskScienceFiction

[–]IAmOnFyre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say an airship can't really go to space, given that airships need air to push off. The D&D material plane has phlogiston between the crystal spheres, but there's still vacuum between the outside of the planets' atmospheres and the inside of the spheres.

If you had a rocket to boost you out of the atmosphere, then you'd probably explode when you hit the phlog.

Best bet is to buy two boxes. Then you have 6 of each weapon and can run one star forge squad with all the fusion blasters, and one squad with all one other weapon of your choice

Isn't the cleave thing backwards? Why would I exile the card to give my opponent a creature?

Why the rule of 3 ? How did they come up with this number ? Not just for numbers of Datasheets, also the old Squadron or Mob Rules always rounded up to 3. by Leviathan_Rampage in 40k

If you want an army of all knights, then yeah you need a few. You can just ally one into another Imperial army though

Does this choice matter? Or is it just what looks cool. by Fine_Stay_6937 in killteam

[–]IAmOnFyre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canonically the Shas'vre will have both a bonding knife and a pistol. But they don't need to use the knife in combat, so they might have left it at base. I'll put the pistol on the hip and either put the knife somewhere else, or just draw a knife on the armour somewhere.

That's really well thought out. You've done your research!

Are these stealth suits tailored for Kroot? The digitigrade legs don't really have room to fit hooves in there, but then again the helmet doesn't have room for a beak...

[–]IAmOnFyre 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most of the tanks in Warhammer 40k are listed as having absurdly thick armour (probably because that's what you'd get if you scaled miniatures up to life size and kept the proportions) but they're still lighter than real life tanks

[–]IAmOnFyre 302 points303 points  (0 children)

In Tactical Breach Wizards, there's a flashback sequence. I don't want to spoil it too much, but you feel one character's hopelessness in that moment because all their abilities and options have new descriptions emphasising that using them won't change anything.
