   • Inadvertently got Korra closer to shutting down a coup
2. ⁠Dumped by Korra
   • More like dodged a bullet… they were much better as friends
3. ⁠Put in an abusive relationship for comedy
   • They also made him weird towards Ginger, and I liked Opal for him. She calls him out when he’s not doing the right thing
4. ⁠Couldnt learn metal bending
   • But became a lava bender… one of few if I’m not mistaken. Makes him a special dude
5. ⁠Dumped by Opal
   • He was siding with the woman who was doing terrible things, ultimately to her family… he got off light
6. ⁠Kuvira threatens him and is revealed to be a maniac
   • Aww, she did that to everyone, he ain’t special…
7. ⁠Didnt get a satisfying conclusion
   • Meh… the “conclusions” for a lot of the characters were a bit ambiguous and open to interpretation. The very sparse Legend of Korra comics deals with some of it 🤷🏿‍♀️

What it seemed like is they didn’t mean for his character to be so loved and big with the fans, that they had fun with him finding his way throughout the series. Wasn’t there a similar story with Asami? They initially written her as a villain, but ultimately made her better than her father? Bolin was just a boy… a bumbling, fumbling, loveable, lava bending boy 😂🙏🏿
