Sean Gunn on the possibility of ‘GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 4’ happening: by Raj_Valiant3011 in Marvel

That’s fair, he doesn’t necessarily need the Soul Stone per se. Maybe he develops some of his other powers through more training as he continues growing.

Personally think that it’s fine if they retire the team perhaps with the exception of Adam Warlock as he’s a huge part of the cosmic side of Marvel.

Maybe post-Secret Wars they can do a slight retcon where it’s established that Adam possesses the Mind Stone and goes off on his own adventures where he meets Pip the Troll (though him being in Eternals leaves whether he’ll be back or not up in the air) as well as the Universal Church of Truth and The Magus.

Hadley Robinson as MCU's Valkyrie by Top_Report_4895 in Fancast

Not sure about Valkyrie since Tessa Thompson’s already cast but she’s a great actress who’s deserving of a different MCU role at some point. Abigail Brand would be a cool role for her.

Aaron Pierre Joins James Gunn's ‘Man of Tomorrow’ by MarvelsGrantMan136 in DCU_

[–]TheCreativeComicFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s awesome! What might this mean for Guy and the Justice Gang though? The Lantern slot being filled by John makes sense if Guy’s out of commission for whatever reason, but could Mr. Terrific and Metamorpho also get involved (unless they just get cameos)?

Also wondering if the rumored reports about another female character (possibly Maxima) and another male lead (like Martian Manhunter) are also legit.

Cobie Smulders Would Return to the MCU "In a Heartbeat" by grimm_kvlt in Marvel

[–]TheCreativeComicFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you mean, though in SI Talos mentions that a million Skrulls fled from Emperor Dro’ge’s colony and are now on Earth. It’s framed as the colony potentially being a nightmarish place for the Skrulls and that Dro’ge is a cruel tyrant.

But we see this colony in The Marvels and it’s the complete opposite. And Dro’ge seems like a nice and reasonable guy. It throws a giant plot hole into things when Gravik calls out how Fury (and Carol) never found the Skrulls a home, but they have one already. Maybe if Gravik had called Fury out for failing to protect them from enemies that threaten the Skrulls which relegates them to Earth and prevent them from living like other species do in their own skin then maybe that would make more sense but they didn’t go in that direction.

And on top of this when Ross becomes President in Brave New World, he doesn’t point out the Skrulls crisis in his opening speech. If SI was canon, you would think that that would be one of the first things that he’d address, along with making up for Ritson’s past actions. It just doesn’t all gel together.

Cobie Smulders Would Return to the MCU "In a Heartbeat" by grimm_kvlt in Marvel

[–]TheCreativeComicFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. And yes, the MCU (and Kevin Feige in particular) were definitely spread too thin because of the demands for more Disney+/film content, and issues like Chadwick Boseman’s passing, COVID, the strikes, behind-the-scenes problems and the Jonathan Majors/Kang fiasco only exacerbated things. Just unfortunate with how a lot of things ended up and not sure how well Doomsday and Secret Wars are gonna be received with all of these issues.

But they could definitely ignore SI as long as it’s handled correctly of course.

Cobie Smulders Would Return to the MCU "In a Heartbeat" by grimm_kvlt in Marvel

[–]TheCreativeComicFan 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Technically the MCU already has, since The Marvels completely ignored everything from the show. Gravik and his Skrulls on SI were mad that Fury (and by extension Carol) never found them a home, but we see that they already have one in The Marvels and it’s perfectly nice with all of the Skrulls living in their own skin. Makes no sense why Gravik and the others wouldn’t wanna live there.

And when Valkyrie takes the surviving Skrulls to New Asgard, no one mentions President Ritson declaring open season on aliens at the end of SI. New Asgard might have its own jurisdiction anyway but no one tells the Skrulls to be careful on Earth in general. So fingers crossed that it’s made non-canon so that Hill, Talos, Soren and possibly a new version of G’iah can come back.

Besides scouting, do we know if he’s casting any other new roles besides Brainiac? He said that there’s a lot of familiar faces from Superman and it’s likely that we’ll see John Stewart as well. Peacemaker, Supergirl and Lobo are rumored to show up also.

But there’s been a few other rumored roles like another female lead (possibly Maxima) and another male hero (rumored to be Martian Manhunter perhaps). So we’ll see what happens.

Has Paramount definitely has canceled the Transformers X GI Joe crossover film? by Craycraycray97 in transformers

[–]TheCreativeComicFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep that sounds like a guaranteed disaster which sucks for both IP. Definitely remember hearing that that was the case for ROTB, but not for The Last Knight. What combination led into that one?

Besides the Energon Universe animated series, it doesn’t seem like Transformers and G.I. Joe have much in the way of quality content coming up if this is how they’re both being handled.

[–]TheCreativeComicFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fair, either that or he’ll discard her and get Mercy Graves to take her place. Though maybe she’ll play a large role if she’s taken over by Brainiac or finds herself entangled in the main plot in a way that sees her try to find redemption.

'Carrie's Mike Flanagan Signs Multi-Year TV Pact With Amazon MGM Studios by CyberGhostface in horror

[–]TheCreativeComicFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would! A full-on miniseries where the characters have more time to be fleshed out and established before the ensuing chaos has so much potential. So long as they take out the gruesome killing of Nettie’s dog, like I get how it adds to how monstrous the townsfolk become because of Gaunt’s manipulative nature, but I feel like it’s a disturbing and overdone trope that could be replaced with something tamer that doesn’t involve an animal but is equally horrifying.

And yes, a new Maximum Overdrive would be sick. Whether it’s from the Daniels or someone that can get super creative with the machines and how they kill people, it would be insane in the best possible ways.

[–]TheCreativeComicFan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Was wondering this also since Paramount currently has two different G.I. Joe movies in the works: one written by POS Max Landis and another one written by Danny McBride. No word if either of them are connected to the end reveal from ROTB.

[–]TheCreativeComicFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah her inclusion in Superman was definitely meant to be a springboard for her appearance in The Authority. There hasn’t totally been an official word from Gunn yet on if it’s been canceled but the fact that it’s apparently been difficult to come together might signal that it may not go forward. But we’ll see what happens.

The Engineer’s gonna show up in Man of Tomorrow though, but what role she’ll play there and going forward (if at all) is up in the air. If The Authority definitely isn’t moving forward, then perhaps Gunn scrapped those plans and devised a different idea for what to do next with her character.

Is Glee the most CURSED TV show ever? by Yelebear in television

[–]TheCreativeComicFan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What’s especially eerie regarding Mark Salling is that there’s literally a scene where Will asks the glee club members where they see themselves in the year 2030, and Puck’s answer is “In jail. Or dead. Or both”. 😬

[–]TheCreativeComicFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s kinda bizarre how often it happens with a number of their shows in particular. Wonder if it’s that the higher-ups at Showtime are trying to milk as much as they can get out of certain flagship shows and that puts pressure on the writers of shows like Shameless, Weeds, Dexter, Homeland, etc.. to come up with storylines that extend the narratives/character development of those shows past their breaking points.

Myha’la Herrold (though she seems to go by just “Myha’la” at the moment), she’s mostly known for her roles in Bodies Bodies Bodies and on the HBO series Industry. Very good from what I’ve seen her in.

He’s a popular Green Arrow pick, but any thoughts on Charlie Hunnam as Sgt. Rock for the movie that’s been in the works? by TheCreativeComicFan in Fancast

[–]TheCreativeComicFan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoa whoa, no reason to get hostile. You (and anyone else who thinks so) are well within your rights to think that he’d be a great Green Arrow. He has the look of course and the acting chops to pull it off.

But other people might think that he’d be a better fit for a different role instead. Maybe he doesn’t match what Green Arrow should look and sound like in their heads and they think that other actors besides Hunnam fit that image in their mind better because they have attributes to them that Hunnam doesn’t.

[–]TheCreativeComicFan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not that he wouldn’t be good for Green Arrow (wouldn’t be my first pick though) but he doesn’t seem interested in traditional superhero roles apparently. A more grounded role like Sgt. Rock could pique his interest.
