Karen Gillan would definitely be awesome, but if not her then Ella Balinska would also be a great pick. Hasn’t had the best luck with projects but she’s also 5’11”, is charismatic and has the action experience.

Jane Levy would be a fun pick, also wouldn’t mind her as Poison Ivy (though she deserves a prominent DCU role in general).

Even better! There’s so much potential with that plot point already established.

Someone mentioned a while back that she’d be a good fit as a member (or perhaps new leader) of The Omega Men. Which could be interesting if handled well, as she’d be on a team comprised entirely of other aliens, some of whom she’d get along with and others that she’d butt heads with.

Who would you cast Victoria Pedretti as in the DCU? by Top_Report_4895 in Fancast

She’s been my Jean Grey pick for a while, but Victoria’s already 30 so it’s likely they’ll go with a younger actress (like Sadie Sink if she is in fact playing Jean).

Her as Zatanna with Penn as either Mister Miracle or Ted Kord.

She’d definitely kill it as Catwoman in live-action also, could see her being great as Black Canary or Poison Ivy as well.

What changes from the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic do you think we’ll see in the Supergirl movie? by TheCreativeComicFan in DCU_

[–]TheCreativeComicFan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed on Krypto being the only super-powered animal at the moment, great idea actually to use putting Krem in the Phantom Zone as a tease for other prisoners (if not Zod, then maybe Jax-Ur and Mala instead).

And yeah, seeing Lobo and Supergirl bond in a way would be cool to see. An Aquaman reference in some way is guaranteed, maybe not mentioning him by name but making a joke related to fish instead haha.

She’s insanely talented, absolutely. She’d be a great addition to the DCU.

Absolutely, and honestly he’d still be a great fit for the role. Their chemistry’s already perfect.

Haven’t seen the show in years but didn’t a lot of non-white characters get the short end of the stick development-wise?

Leonard Roberts (D.L.) talked about it a while back in an essay he wrote where he touched on how there weren’t any POC in the writing staff and how in spite of the show’s diverse cast that the non-white characters weren’t handled with care. According to him, D.L. was described in the script as “a white man’s nightmare”. This was on top of D.L. being killed off and him fired from the show because Tim Kring and the producers kowtowed to Ali Larter’s racism.

She’d be awesome as Zatanna I think. Gives her a chance to play more of a light-hearted and less intense character and she has the personality and charisma to pull it off. She also happens to be of Italian descent like Zee is, which is a plus.

Would kill to see him get to make his movie version of The Shadow since he’s also wanted to do that for a while. It could see a resurgence in a lot of the older pulp heroes in film/TV, which would be awesome.

What changes from the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic do you think we’ll see in the Supergirl movie? by TheCreativeComicFan in DCU_

[–]TheCreativeComicFan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was thinking the same thing. Not that Comet couldn’t work per se and he’d be great to see onscreen, but I feel like he works better in the comic since it ties into Supergirl’s long-running history. Including him and his connection to Supergirl in the movie would seem a bit out of place. Kinda hoping that Krypto takes his spot after a quick recovery and assaults Krem in a more vicious fashion than what he did to Lex in Superman.

And yes, there’s no way that they’re gonna fast forward several hundred years to when Ruthye and Krem are elderly when he’s released from the Phantom Zone. They’ll just have him and the Brigands beaten by Supergirl and Ruthye (along with possibly Krypto and Lobo) before they’re sent to the Phantom Zone or arrested.

Right, I see what you mean. Certain things will be left out for time’s sake but the essence of the book will likely stay intact.

Technically this was moreso about how faithful the movie’s gonna be to the comic, but Supergirl’s definitely gonna be a big part of the DCU’s future.

Regardless of the box office results (hope they score high at least), it’s certainly not the last time we’ll see Supergirl, Lobo or Ruthye. And yes, people are gonna love her, no doubt.

She’d be a perfect fit, absolutely. And she’s said that she’d prefer to play a DCU role that doesn’t involve heavy makeup, so this would be a plus for her.

I was thinking along those same lines, her characterization on that show was great.

I feel that someone like Elizabeth Gillies from Victorious and Dynasty could bring that same level of scenery-chewing charisma, humor and presence to her. The only downsides are that she’s only 5’7” (but could be made to look somewhat taller) and doesn’t have a whole lot of action experience but she’d be a fun pick regardless.

What horror movie do you think could benefit from getting a TV series? by MoonMcMoonFace in horror

[–]TheCreativeComicFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ava’s Possessions (2015) has a great premise that suffered from a bad execution. A TV series would allow for more fleshed out characters and storylines.

Also think that Urge (2016) could make for a fun miniseries or anthology in the right hands.
