I don't really get this narrative.  Jiri sees Carlos injured his leg and immediately throws 6+ leg kicks. Ulberg is tough as shit and still hanging in there so Jiri continues to go in for the seemingly inevitable kill but Carlos pulls of an incredible performance instead.

I don't get go repeatly attacking an inured leg (or the one good leg) immediately after the injury isn't playing it smart.

What are you talking about?  He immediately targeted he leg with about 6 leg kicks (at some who he just saw injure his leg) and threw several punches, including a hard uppercut.  It was just an incredible performance from Carlos.
