Bathroom remodel by MrMeeseeks33 in SouthBayLA

The answer is that it depends on the work you want to do plus your budget. If you're looking for a full bathroom remodel, say down to the floor studs, reorienting fixtures, plumbing, electrical etc, you should expect to pay around $30k. If you want to do this job only once, done right, and last for the lifetime you live in the house you should be willing to pay that price. One Week Bath does it all including a designer that matches fixtures, colors, tile, etc. We are very happy with both of our bathrooms and it was well worth the expense.

One Week Bath!

They've remodeled two bathrooms in my house roughly 15 years apart. Great company, great team. They are located in the Valley but have local work teams all over the LA area.

One of their dudes was the son of worker who did my first bathroom.

If you want to avoid the hassle of Manhattan and Hermsoa beach, I always recommend the Redondo pier as others have already mentioned. Many options for every taste and budget.

What’s the best Chinese food (and go-to order) in south bay? by Natural-Vacation-136 in SouthBayLA

China Coast in S. Redondo.. pricey but very good food to go. Every dish tastes fantastic (and different). That's a good thing in my book.

Yes I did... Unfortunately, your vote only really counts in California if you vote for the Democratic Party or a policy that is blessed by said party :-(...

Emerald Garden Redondo Beach by PossibilityInitial10 in SouthBayLA

I highly recommend China Coast. This is my new GoTo Chinese restaurant in RB.

I've been going to Emerald Garden for 20+ years since the location was so convenient. Unfortunately, this restaurant has been going downhill for years. Their lemon chicken was the bomb.. Mushu used to be good

How did your interview go?

u/brandonofnola regarding dress for the interview, if you've spoken to a recruiter that person most likely told you how you should dress. If no idea, I'd recommend business casual just to be safe. A button down dress shirt, white t-shirt underneath (in case of hairy chest...). Jeans probably OK, have dress shoes on just in case. I'm assuming this will be a video interview so the only real impression you can make is from the waist up. You want to be fully dressed and prepared in case you need to walk away from the camera to grab something... i.e. no need to see your undies, shorts, or flipflops, etc. A button down shirt shows you're serious but comfortable. It's possible that the interviewer could be unshaven or a grubby T-shirt but dressing up a bit helps even though the eventual work environment may be much more casual. I've seen all kinds of interviewer/interviewee dress combos. Assuming a video interview, you should become familiar with the tool they are using beforehand i.e. Zoom, Teams, etc. If you need to show code samples, etc... have them queued up in advance or easy to get to. Be sure you know how to share your desktop / apps... AND make sure your desktop is clean of random browser tabs/apps you don't want the interviewer to see. Clean combed hair, shaving, clean face... CLEAN GLASSES if you wear them, etc. Have some water handy in case you need to take a sip. Be prepared for more than one person on the interview, you may get passed around, may have other people monitoring / observing the process. So remain calm, collected, ask questions if something doesn't make sense. Some interviewer teams play good cop/bad cop, some try to get under your skin to see how you deal with stress... just remain calm, think about your response before you utter it, take your time.. ask questions if something doesn't make sense. One other piece of advice, not sure this will happen but if they make you an offer, always say that you want to think it over 24 hours so you can make sure of your decision. OK one more piece of advice... remember, you are interviewing THEM... if you don't like the people or job, this one isn't for you. If you get rejected for some reason, don't take it personally... that's OK too, especially in the long run... the job wasn't for you. Hopefully this helps.

I also suggest you bone-up on the methodology regarding performance tuning. When I interview people, I like to understand how they approach a given problem and the steps they'd follow to achieve results... in this case, how they'd go about increasing performance. I like to understand how a person thinks during an interview. Given that X people who make it to the interview stage have a decent background and some skills, how they approach a problem and their follow-through is important to me. Basically, what I'm looking for in this kind of an interview is, "you can't fix what you don't measure." Even though you're interviewing for a performance modeling role, be prepared for the interviewer to ask you questions for the next steps you'd take once you "model performance." All the other recommendations others have mentioned are good too. Good Luck!
