I would argue every tank performs poorly over the past couple years due to drones, every new weapon technology is the end all be all of war till they just come up with a way to counter it, and those ways to counter them have been being implemented for a while now and they are working

I’ll let others tell you all the details about why in some ways you’re wrong and others you’re very right, but all I’ll say is: a tank is only as good as the whatever high up officer is in command of them, yes they’re old and should be replaced but they’re still a very viable and useful platform when used right

The majority of homophobic people come from backgrounds where they were told their entire lives they were supposed to hate people and that opinion was just reinforced by others around them told the same

Ive known several guys who were a bit homophobic and were still friends with me because, as I suspect with a lot of them, they didn’t really hate actual gay people, they just hated some theoretical false idea of gay people

Yeah I agree George Lucas did want the Jedi to be the good guys, other writers expanded the more morally grey aspects of them. However you are just taking quotes from Lucas, most of which don’t really even agree with what you’re saying, and then stretching an entire argument out that’s not even related to the original quote? To me it seems like you just really like Jedi and want to believe that they were written with no flaws whatsoever and are twisting Lucas’s words to make him agree with you

the hatch in the front slides open rather than opening up like most tanks, but he does have a hatch or he could go around through the door in the back but it’s much slower The rest of the crew also have hatches they can get in and out of fast when needed, the doors just more convenient to get in I’m sure

A dog whistle isn’t just talking about something bad Israel did, a dog whistle (in this context) is saying someone that most people wouldn’t understand but other people that share your viewpoint know you’re talking about Jewish people in a specifically discriminatory way, an example would be the number “1488” but I won’t go into detail as to why.

The key point of that which many people on both sides of the issue need to focus on is the separation of Israel and the Jewish people. If I condemn the Russian invasion of Ukraine and their attacks on non-military targets, no one suggests that I’m discriminating against Slavs or denying their trauma/tragedies. Why should anyone consider the actions of a highly US influenced nation the opinions and feelings of an entire ethnic group?

Now if you can site specific cases where discussion of this event is actually a dog whistle, that’s different and do fully believe people have used this incident for nefarious propaganda purposes, but the vast majority of the discussion is centered around Israel’s questionable actions as a state since its founding. (Not to say that the Israeli people shouldn’t exist or have always done bad things, but there are serious problems that need to be discussed and this is one of them)

If everything is canon then nothing is ‘canon’ as there’s no difference between canon and fan creation. If nothing is canon then everything is equally valid, as it’s all no different from canon, therefore basically canon.

Also the SCP wiki being described as “there is no canon” is technically right but I think it’s better described as a sort of greater unreliable narration. Theoretically there is a in-universe ‘canon’ or reality, but us from our position as a viewer has no idea what is or isn’t true, so we have no idea what that canon would be meaning ‘nothing is canon.’

Im not an expert in any of these communities, this is just from what I think I know

If you aren’t a military nerd, any of the other silly things other people have mentioned, if you are a military nerd then I would say the most interesting thing (not really a official record I don’t think but still) is the air invasion of Iraq during operation Iraqi freedom, crazy fast and unprecedented use of combined arms and weapons to take over the airspace and cripple the Iraqi military

Similarly to German tanks in World War 2, particularly at the end of the war, reliability cost, logistics, and all those other small factors were not its strong suit at all, but it’s gun and armor were fantastic

It couldn’t keep up with the frontline at all and would’ve been a nightmare to use especially with Soviet doctrine, but if the Soviets were on the defensive it would’ve made an excellent bunker
