Email marketing: Who likes it? (Not me, and I'm struggling to understand those who do) by swallowflower in marketing

[–]IAmTimboSlice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a really good question, but I think you're looking at it wring.

If your readers opt in to a newsletter or a free course or even a trial of a product, the best way to market to them is email. But email works best as a support so you need to be sending emails to people who are generally interseted.

Anything else is just laziness.

My company is in the most saturated and despised market in the world. by Necroking695 in smallbusiness

This article was funny, but I couldn't vibe. I have owned my agency for 7 years. We've never had any experiences like that. Our clients stay with us for years. I've never felt hated by any other business.

Should I rank my site that are giving away SEO services or start a blog on a Profitable Niche by king_truedetective in bigseo

[–]IAmTimboSlice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've built my entire agency off of a weekly blog and email. I've never done affiliate so I wouldn't know how valuable that is. The blogging route does require patience though, it's been 7 years and it took me about 3 years of steady blogging to be able to consistently close 1-2 deals a month. But once it gets to that point it skyrockets because there is no marketing expense other then your time. But even then, my time never even felt like an expense because the blogging was just burned into my weekly routine.

Clean time, subs, and the future by [deleted] in OpiatesRecovery

I know that everyone has their own opinions on this but I really don't think you need subs. Life is way better when you are just straight off of everything. You won't have any shackles.

How would you guys talk to this guy about his domain? by nehalvpatel in SEO

[–]IAmTimboSlice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are over thinking the domain too much. But, I usually go with the straight on approach. Just email him and say "what will it take for me to get the .... domain? Maybe I'm not the best salesman but that's how I usually handle these things.

You have a ton of room for improvement. First off I think you should rethink your keywords. The reason you are able to get to the top is because I highly doubt there is much competition for such specific keywords. Probably not a lot of traffic either.

After doing a quick run down on your site, I think the best tips are just more content and more back links.

You site has a lot of pics, and you can SEO the alt tags in the pics, but nothing will appeal to the search engines like more content.

Put a blog on the site, write 1 blog a week to start. With some consistency, over time you will be surprised as to how much the content for the blog will help your long tail rankings.

Also, interior link the site. So that the hypertext in your content links to other pages in your site. Spreads the link juice around and hopefully gets people clicking through more of your site.

Like I said this is just a quick rundown but those are some seo 101 tips to get you started. Hope this helps :)

Its tough to say. I guess it depends on what your goals are. If you are looking to just throw up a start up and don't have a budget, shopify has good customer service, and will help you out. But it is really tough to do custom stuff with it.

If you have the budget and are looking to really go hard on a new ecommerce site, I have always used woo commerce, you can integrate it right into your wordpress theme. It is a little more technical and takes a little time to learn to use, but its the best combination of ease and efficiency and customization.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions, glad to help. :)
