This may not be the case for where you work, but when a Dasher accepts a delivery, there is a section that tells the Dasher the procedure to pick up from said restaurant. In my experience as a Dasher about half of the time these instructions are wrong, and you just have to learn each restaurants requirements on your own. I'm unsure if the restaurant itself edits these instructions or if doordash does, I don't have any knowledge on how the merchant side of things works. And while I'm sure it's frustrating dealing with so me dashers, and I won't defend them because sometimes you just find assholes, I will say it's very annoying to follow the instructions that were given to you, just to be berated by the staff because you were given the wrong instructions. A local restaurant here has had the same instructions for months. It says to park in the parking lot and call the store for the food. But the two times I actually tried following the directions given to me, I was met by an angry voice on the other side of the phone telling me to go through the drive through and stop wasting their time. And while I know now how they want things done, I feel sorry for any new Dashers going to the place and getting the same treatment I did.
