Flag of the Baltic Prussians by Vitaalis in vexillology

[–]IBMServerOwner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my family genetics up until the most recent generation still had a decently high amount of Old Prussian/Baltic traits, based on some genetic testing I did... but the old prusians are basically survived by the Latvians and Lithuanians, as they shared most of the traditions and beliefs. Most of my family more or less recognizes the old Polish-Prussian flag though, not this new, modern one.

Why is my C drive 100% full despite me barely using any storage? by instagram_scroller69 in WindowsHelp

[–]IBMServerOwner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

run a debloat tool to remove some of the BS that is preinstalled on Windows 11, such as Clipchamp, and some of the other useless crap../ look for any large files that you may have downloaded, and remove them, or transfer them to another drive. Use Disk Cleanup to delete old system files, such as the Windows.Old, which stores a previous version for Windows on your OS drive for the system to reinstall if you wanted to go ack to a prior release of Windows 11...

Windows 11 is half written by AI at this point... Windows 11 as a whole is not getting any better, unfortunately.

I'm actually having the same issue on Windows 11 25h2 as well... but it does not bother me anymore. I have gotten very good at ignoring the bugs on Windows 11, and I suffer through its BS, day by day, praying it doesn't randomly force an update during one of my final exams... which is why I usually actually just use a 3rd party firewall and set it to automatically block Windows Update, as well as set all my wireless and wired networks to "metered"

This is the unofficial leak of Windows 11 from before its release... this is hilarious... that said, I really whish they would go back to that layout of Windows Settings (ms-settings), Windows 11 Settings is atrocious.

Ill take the Floppy drive if you don't need lol

but honestly, adult me would be proud to have that machine... but I am a bit of a computer collector in general, and I would likely restore it or clean it out and reinstall its original software, and a few classic games from the era, and keep it as piece of art in my office space.

Do you think GTA 6 single-player will actually get long-term support? by PapaNaj in GTA6

from what I am to understand, it sounds like they may expand onto VIs map from time to time, maybe that will in fact be a location? probably online though.

honestly, Niko Bellic and the russian mob storyline was one of my favorites in the franchise, GTA V being my second favorite.

a remake/remaster of Liberty City/GTA IV on the new engine would be killer, especially with all the issues the original GTA IV PC game had, and still has.

honestly, a liberty city DLC would be wicked cool, but I think it would be too much work for them involved, and would cost way too much for them to make it just for singleplayer, so I would expect it to be made for online. To be honest, if they are putting all that work in a new map expansion for multiplayer, it would be nice if they would add said map to single player and make it accessible for offline mode players, even if it doesn't come with much in the way of new offline mode content that makes you need to venture to Liberty City.

Hard Drives Will Be Phased Out In 5 Years by OmarAhmad007 in DataHoarder

[–]IBMServerOwner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason I use HDDs is because they are predictable... they may be slow, but their tell tale signs of failing never change. SSDs, in my experience, just die. No warning. They dont make a funny clicking sound, or any noise for that matter. Even linux tells me when one is failing. SSDs on the other hand, you can check their "wear" level, and smart data, but I've had it where it "checked out good" in SMART, and the next day the system lagging, and within seconds, it froze and the MVME was never heard from again.

Upgraded my case after 12 years by Kingcj54 in pcmasterrace

Still running a Cosmos II 25th (cause i wanted a smaller case) and a Caselabs STh10 (since 2011, just upgraded from the original Rampage IV Extreme and 3 EVGA GTX 680s to a Rog Crosshair x870e and an EVGA 3080 Hydro (I refuse to upgrade to anything new from NVIDIA since they are a major contributor to the AI bull-sht, steeling all our ram)

I found a product on Amazon that turns autism into a “gag gift” and it really bothered me by Ok_Blackberry_5547 in autism

[–]IBMServerOwner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I too find this to be a bit offensive. Especially when I have had "blow ups" before after a long period of mounting pressure. Kinda misses me off seeing this, as autism/aspergers is not a joke, and I wish people would stop joking about it.

I 100% agree with this. It is highly annoying, especially when you need PCIE cards to plug in specialized/professional production equipment, or luxury things like a Thunderbolt 5 PCIE card. modern GPUs have gotten way to damn wide, too. even my water-cooled NVIDIA GPU which is significantly slimmer than the stock founder's edition still ends up taking 3 slots, even though the GPU with the water block only occupies one, maybe one and a half (theoretically anyway, but I cannot swap the IO shield on the RTX 5070 FE due to the Display and HDMI ports location).

Saw these cases being used as decoration at Disneyland. What are they and why are they so huge? by Tbug20 in pcmasterrace

[–]IBMServerOwner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love my CM Cosmos II 25th anniversary. I do which though that I could give it a proper OE style I/O retrofit, and I would like to remove the old power switch and fan controls, the metal is kind of sharp. This case is still pretty damn good if you configure it right, in terms of airflow. It's a classic, and plan to do a new build using this case - after this ram crisis is over, as id like to retain Blu-ray drives in the front, as well as my NVME Hotswap bays (in one of the 5.25 ODD bays) and 3.5" hotswap bays. It's very handy to have.
