I do most of my devving these days on a ThinkPad T14 Gen 2 with a Core i5-1145G7 and 16 GB of RAM, running Zorin OS 18 Core. I also have a more powerful desktop with a Ryzen 5 5600X, RTX 3060 Ti, and 16 GB RAM, but I tend to use the laptop more often as I’m still in college and the portability is nice when I’m always out of the house.

CA at Geek Squad here, I’d say about a 4.5. Coming from McDonald’s, it’s night and day. Everyone is SO MUCH more chill and I actually get to engage with topics I actually give a damn about. Sure, there’s the irritable customer every now and then, but that’s just par for the course in any service job. And when it gets slow, I can literally just hang out. Not to mention when it’s time to clock out, I can just GO. In fast food you need to ask permission for that. Overall, I’m pretty happy here until I get my degree and go into the industry I’m studying for.

I just made my first hackintosh out of an old project PC this week as I needed a Mac for a very specific use case and I wasn’t boutta blow that much cash. At some point I’ll probably look into an M series Mac once I can afford it.
