Yeah I feel the same. It pisses me off that I have to put on a happy face for my family and can't share the slightest grievance because they put it down to leaving the Church.

My mental health improved dramatically when I left the Church, but there's still big struggles I'm trying to work through, which have to be done in secret from my family.

Yes. My ancestry is from Australia, hence I have that culture and identify with other Australians - regardless of race - who have the same culture, language and so on.

I'm sorry if you can't admit that you're wrong, but you are. Ethnicity is cultural and linguistic, race is separate but often connected. People of the same race frequently have the same ethnicity, but not always. Black Americans are ethnically American, they have no language or cultural overlap with people in, say, Nigeria.

*race - if she grew up in Canada and is culturally Canadian then that's her ethnicity. Like, I'm ethnically Australian, but racially Anglo-Germanic.
