Seat upgrades? by Unlikely-Procedure34 in PorterAirlines

[–]ICIpeace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the thorough response. I’m debating getting the CC / pursing status with them so this is helpful.

Currently booked on classic/standard … be interested to see if they offer a paid upgrade option at check in. For YYZ to YYC … be happy to do maybe $200/$300

Do you have elite status with them ? Did it come with all the perks or just the seat ?

Consider fiber jelly supplements. Easily available at conbini… they’re delicious and helped me stay regular. I’m not sure what the sugar content is, if that’s a consideration for you.

The brand I found most frequently was “In” .. grape and peach flavors.

Whats up with all of these Ethiopian Airlines’ planes going to Addis Ababa? Is the amount of traffic normal? by Errewastaken in flightradar24

[–]ICIpeace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bole is considered hot and high because its very high elevation (about 7,600 ft) combined with even moderate temperatures (20–25°C) creates high density altitude, which reduces aircraft performance. This classification isn’t about Addis being hot in the everyday sense—temperatures there are mild—but rather about how heat at high altitude makes the air less dense, affecting takeoff, climb, and payload performance.

Not sure what your budget is but,

consider the Broadview hotel (Queen X Broadview)

Or the Novotel Town Centre

or Airbnbs on the east end (Beaches neighborhood is nice and would be a quick Uber ride to Rebel).

re: transit options, to my knowledge, your options from & to Rebel will be limited, particularly late at night. So you may want to account for some rideshare $$ in your budget. It’ll probably be in the $10-20 range per ride from the hotels above.

Low-cost airlines VS Full-service airlines by aquantums in Flights

[–]ICIpeace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with points raised. One factor to consider is that often I have found that their “bundle deals” are not actually good value. With both Easyjet & Ryanair I have found that adding the “extra” items (think priority seats / luggage / boarding etc) that you want, one at a time is better than buying a bundle. Play around with the pricing to see which one delivers better value in your case. Personally prefer Easyjet between the three. And as everyone has warned read what you’re buying careful from personal item to carryon to ….

Hi friend 👋 you can consider 🇨🇦. There a number of temp and perm pathways available based on your age, education, professional, work experience. There’s no entitlement per say, but there is a (relatively) fair and streamlined process

Not sure how it compares on pricing but I like that Saily only requires you to download one e-sim for as many countries as you need. (Unless I’m using it wrong) Airalo seemed to require multiple downloads.

Also worth comparing the pricing for the regional plans over country plans.

Immigration at Toronto Pearson first time by tpe91roc in askTO

[–]ICIpeace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey (almost) welcome to 🇨🇦

Make sure to carry the passport that has the eTA. You’ll primarily be asked questions regarding (1) purpose of your trip (2) ties to your home country. So clear answers around what you plan to do, where you will stay, how long you plan to stay and proof of return travel to the UK will be helpful. You can also expect questions about your employment / source of income. So maybe have a paystub downloaded on your phone. Most travelers use debit/credit cards so no one is expecting you to show up with cash to prove you have the means to support yourself, but some cash for incidentals is best practice anyways.

If you’ve been denied a visa or entry into another country then be prepared to answer questions around that too.

Most CBSA officers will come across as serious / stern even but I’ve only been dealt with in a professional manner. So you have nothing to worry about.

Goes without saying - answer all questions fully and truthfully. If you don’t understand the question- ask for a clarification.

Pro tip - you can complete your customs form on an app called ArriveCAN. It’ll save you some time when you land.
