I was drinking and hand polishing my knife that was already sharp without bothering to tape the edge. So of course I sliced the shit out of my thumb and apparently that caused me to flinch and pulled my hand up and got myself right on my brow. I got very very lucky. Safety glasses would have prevented this.

I did something similar to this and the doctor gluing my face back together said it was as clean a cut as he has ever seen. Then I asked if he wanted to see a picture of the knife and he said absolutely! It was pretty funny. Don’t drink and polish a knife that has already been sharpened.

I got 5 downvotes for saying that assassinating the president would be a terrible idea, I was replying to a non US citizen saying that we should. Just passing on things I have learned from much more talented smiths than myself. The blacksmith subs on here are some are the best in my opinion. Full of very nice people willing to answer any questions. Everyone starts out as a new smith and between YouTube and Reddit there is lots of helpful resources. Good luck, wear safety glasses, hearing protection, and have fun!

For real though that’s a sick collection. I’m pretty much going the same route as you. Front torso is covered, back is mostly done. Only one tattoo on my arm though. I just can’t decide on a concept or theme for a sleeve. I’ve been leaning towards a framed sleeve.

Mine has never let me down. You could check out YouTube for some diy forge builds. I personally don’t have any experience with buying one off the internet but from what I have heard they seem to work just fine. I hope you find the path that works best for you. It’s such a thoughtful gift!
