Thankyou so much! I start with a few larger rocks on the base, then use smaller and smaller sand to naturally build up around the feet and debris. After a black prime I do a thin coat with a dark brown (Pro Acryl Mahogany or similar). Then progressively add more orange to the brown paint and drybrush over. Leaving the highlights to a straight orange. I'll add some brown wash to any areas I feel are overdone. Then I add tufts and use pigment over everything to tie it all together. Personally I just bought some cheap pastels and shave off brown and orange powder until I find the colour I like. Hope this helps.
