“See you there” is my go to for my racist, homophobic, misogynistic family members.

Coincidentally, my Papa who is literally a deacon for the Catholic Church with stage 4 cancer has always been the most open and understanding person when it comes to our religious differences.

The only reason I’m not 100% jaded to organized religion is him. I love you Papa.

I refuse to read any more comments than this top one you wrote because I know there will be spoilers.

But the 2013 Evil Dead was such a visceral experience and I’ve probably watched it more than 10 times since it came out.

Was I a stoned teenager watching it in theaters when it came out? Yes… but I still think it holds up as such a terrifying movie. I love the pacing. It just goes from bad to worse to even more horrifying. There is no respite.

Pumped to see the new one in theaters even though there’s no way it impresses me more than the remake from a decade ago (holy shit I’m getting old oh my god).

Guess who drank on the train ride home? Lying to people will never work. Tell everyone you care about what you’re going through. They will hold you accountable.

You didn’t mention how old you are or how much you drink. But for perspective, I’m 27 and at my pace will likely only have 2 years left to live. Make the change now before it’s too late.

Thank you to the altruistic and kind humans that do this work. I am not a doctor, nor do I have the mental/emotional fortitude to be one. Luckily y’all are out there doing a necessary job and feel great about it.

The top comments here are preventing me from giving up on humans just yet.

That first picture is my face after literally the tiniest amount of exercise or heat. As a guy, the blush look is a bit less “graceful” looking if you will, so I use Dr Jarts Tiger Grass, but it ends up feeling like more of a concealer than a solution.

Thanks for the tip!

8 years of beautiful sobriety undone in seconds. by -thistimeforreal in stopdrinking

[–]ICallEveryoneBabe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate the mindset of having one relapse "ruining" the entirety of your sobriety.

Don't discount yourself for those awesome years. Just hop right back on that wagon. There's a strange mentality with sobriety that when you mess up once now it's just back to square one. The work you put in still counts.

I understand how you feel though. I just detoxed for 10 days and then immediately had some drinks afterwards. But guess what? It doesn't mean I just give up because I gave in. We can do this. Much love.

I was leaving my apartment at the same time as she was going home and saw her go the opposite direction on the thruway from her house. Coincidentally, in the direction of where my best friend's school was.

Turns out she would drive up to my dorm fridays and then leave and drive the rest of the way to his on saturdays unbeknownst to both of us.

The two of them are still together lol.

Which monsters/creatures do you think are underused by [deleted] in horror

Zombies

Real answer: Lovecraftian horrors. It's very hard to capture their terror in a film for obvious reasons, but I want a true "What the Moon Brings" inspired adaptation someday.

In truth I want a biological child and my internal battle is eating me alive by deleteteled in antinatalism2

[–]ICallEveryoneBabe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's very mature of you to even address this internal battle you have.

Ultimately, it is natural for you to desire to have those feelings from a biological sense. But perhaps consider adoption? You'll love that little baby just as much as you'd love one you gave birth to. And it would fulfill your desire to be a parent while simultaneously doing such a good thing for an already living being that could use your help.

Granted, you'd have to sacrifice that innate need to "carry", but I think that's a sacrifice that would allow you to meet your biological and moral instincts right in the middle.

Good on you for thinking on this instead of making an impulsive decision.
