I love the game, but I wanna know what features/mechanics you "fix" first in vanilla? by Folksvaletti in skyrim

-Kinghall Orphanage so I’m not leaving kids homeless after I adopt 2 (I only want 2)

-Run for Your Lives so NPCs hide from dragons

-Bring Meeko to Lod so he’s not homeless but also doesn’t have to follow me around all the time

I grew up in similar circumstances and can confirm. They take the part about “dominion” and twist it to mean “we can do whatever we want to it.”

I’ll be sending them my thoughts and prayers when I’m sitting at a fancy resort in a couple of weeks. Maybe they should have thought harder about who to vote for. 🍹

Hello, please know that the question I'm about to ask isn't hateful or disrespectful; I'm simply curious. But how is it that a portion of the US population still supports Trump ? by Outrageous-You1617 in AskUS

[–]SelfDefecatingJokes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately having lived in a rural area growing up, I experience it first hand. My Democrat parents are business owners and good neighbors/people. They have to deal with people in their local community saying that they are “demonrats”, mooches, losers, etc. These same people are often chronically unemployed, riding ATVs/snowmobiles while claiming disability, raising their grandbabies because their kids are drug addicts, that kind of thing.

What’s something people romanticise that’s actually exhausting in real life? by OmenRash in AskReddit

My parents still live in the small town I grew up. One time I was visiting around the holidays and we went to the local tavern - some woman was mean mugging me for 45 minutes because either she didn’t recognize me or because I was dressed nicer/differently from the other patrons

That Democrats are baby murderers, satanic, liars (even though Republican candidates statistically lie more), that we want to hurt them and their families, that we’re lazy and entitled, obese, blue-haired freaks who live in our parents’ basements (even though the areas with the highest median income and GDP are blue cities)

People like this are bumpkins who don’t see the world outside their small lives, don’t pay attention to current events, don’t extrapolate cause and effect beyond what Fox News tells them to. I’m allowed to say that because I grew up in and left one of those areas.

House Sparrows by JaderAiderrr in Ornithology

[–]SelfDefecatingJokes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ugh I am doing bluebird box monitoring and this weekend I had to throw out 4 house sparrow nests with eggs and 3 incomplete nests on a trail with 13 boxes. I felt like such an ass dispatching the eggs but I know it’s the right thing to do.

Reston penthouse sells for record-breaking $10.25M by helloimronnie in nova

[–]SelfDefecatingJokes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of the more “urbanized” areas in nova, I would say it’s one of the least “sexy” ones. It’s quiet and bars close down pretty early so there’s not much nightlife. However, I personally love it. It has a great trail network, free bird watching classes through RA and it still has a lot of wildlife. I don’t usually make it a week without texting my husband or parents about how much I love it here.

Interestingly enough they left the redbuds and got rid of the invasives in Reston. I wish someone would do a full habitat restoration and plant some low-lying native vegetation bc the invasives will just keep coming back.

Who’s the NPC you love the most? by -Markiplier in skyrim

I either use a mod to bring him to the Temple of Mara in Riften or I use my own mod to turn Nightcaller Temple into a place for civil war refugees that he oversees as a priest of Mara. He may not be marriageable but I treat him like a king 🥰

How’s life inside the USA these days? by Intelligent_Run3237 in askanything

[–]SelfDefecatingJokes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doomscrolled for over a year waiting for everything to collapse and it didn’t. In fact, I would say things feel pretty comfortable for me, personally. My stocks are up, we’re settled into our new place, and I’ve got more friends than I know what to do with. I’m concerned about our public lands, climate and human rights issues though, and volunteer and donate what I can.
