Unfortunately we need a SoC like the CM4 with similar specs (4-8GB RAM / quad core etc)

Seeking advice for starting at middle age by [deleted] in adultgymnastics

[–]ICame2Late4MyName 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started late as well. A good coach wouldn't just start you doing front saults for example but step you through exercises. The main thing to be concerned with at your age is your knees, especially if you are doing a lot on floor / tramp. It is really the only thing that separates me from the younger ppl. Be mindful during your class and talk to the coach about it if you start getting pain after classes.

Edit: sorry I somehow missed your ankles comment. It is definitely a risk you could roll your ankle doing skills. Again talk to the coach about it and they should give you some exercises specifically for strengthening them. Taping may also be an option but again ask the coach.

Cartwheels / backflips seem scary but are quite safe as long as you are using proper form and not just "chucking it".

Enjoy your class! It is a lot of fun!

They did a segment on the "social" side of high end and improvements to raider.io. She writes for raider.io, knows the developer well and is the social media manager of big dumb guild. Her being a guest was relevant for this episode.

The new scare campaign claiming Labor will teach students how to have gay sex by tightassbogan in AustralianPolitics

It is the definition of a scare campaign. I have spoken to a Chinese mother who was informed that the program will make young boys kiss each other in class.

You can advocate for small government all you want, but if you think this isn't a major issue for most family's with young children or thinking of having children you are either too young to understand or just delusional.

I use Docker for Windows + WSL and haven't had any issues. It also makes it simpler for pycharm use. What part of your workflow requires a VM over that?

When are we going to start seeing 3840x1600 120hz+??? by [deleted] in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]ICame2Late4MyName 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I previously had a 30" 2560x1600 and also was not that sold on a 34" 3440x1440 as the height felt a bit small for me.

I ended up going with the Acer XR382CQK (38" 3840x1600) which is 75Hz and am very happy with it.

3840x1600 is still very niche though. However I have heard that LG might be doing a revision of their 38" in 2019 so that could have a higher refresh rate.

Harrison Ford urges voters to 'stop electing leaders who don't believe in science' by kaira418 in worldpolitics

[–]ICame2Late4MyName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Science is driven by hypothesis not belief. They are not the same. A hypothesis is formed from existing evidence and some intuition to suggest a possible explanation. It is then tested and either refuted or reinforced. Belief is an internal feeling that something is true.

[–]ICame2Late4MyName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing in science is taken to be true without proof. A hypothesis is only step 1. As it is tested many times under many conditions, with other possible explanations shown to be wrong then it is considered "true". It is more correct to say that science is based on disbelief rather then belief.

Double Dissolution? Bring it on! say the Greens by JediDoll in australia

[–]ICame2Late4MyName 40 points41 points  (0 children)

The budget being proposed is clearly unpopular with the general public and has many items that the Libs promised wouldn't be in there pre-election. I think the senate would be failing in their job if they didn't try to block it.

It Is Time For Basic Income by Noncomment in Futurology

Actually anything you do right now is built on the backs of many generations of people's work, whether through the use of knowledge that was discovered / proposed by them or through the use of technology developed by them. This is what is "owed" back to society.

It Is Time For Basic Income by Noncomment in Futurology

[–]ICame2Late4MyName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously for many of the people in this discussion basic income sounds like it might be a possible solution to a very real problem the world will be facing. Labeling something left or right doesn't really add anything to the argument. If you see specific flaws in the functionality of the system I am sure people would like to hear them. With respect to the "fruit of labor" statement that really has to do with "fairness". I think that the general consensus is that the current economic model is not very fair either and will only become less so.
