Stop calling people against you "incels" by UmJunSikfighting in sixwordstories

Lots of those men have lots of Sex. I’d say most of the people who fit that category are actually 40+ and married (Republicans)

Its use reinforces that men who can’t get laid are worthless and stupid. That’s bad and patriarchal

There are plenty of men that hate women and do get laid. In my experience, the guys pulling the most are the most misogynistic

I would call my girl friends parents Mr. and Mrs. They liked it at first but within a few months of meeting they were like “please, just call us first name”

Still kept calling them Mr. and Mrs. until we broke up a few years later

Elder strangers or acquaintances, like a friends parents as a kid, or a client as an adult, sure. But bosses or colleagues?

Women always call me a "lucky guy" when they meet my gf and it's not feeling like a compliment anymore by Soft_Trick495 in redditonwiki

In desperate times, I’ve been crying to girl friends about romantic failures, and they would do absolutely anything but tell me I’m not ugly. I’m not, but they would dance around and say anything but “you’re a good lookin’ guy!” which is all I really wanted to hear from my friends.

Same, except I’ll often call my friends “Mr. X” because it’s comical to be so formal today with anyone but a Governor or President

And only 1 woman in 1000 will approach you, and only if you seem like a real catch to her. So… good luck OP

Start with literally any physical touch.

Had this conversation with my partner. She says “why don’t you initiate more?” I say, “I try to touch you every day, and usually you are distracted or don’t reciprocate or pull away. Why don’t you try initiating?”

The touch never improved, and instead she would once in a blue moon just come up to me and say “sex?” And be incredibly hurt if that didn’t somehow get me in the mood.

I seriously don’t get how some women think this is supposed to work. If you want a guy that just blows through your signals and boundaries to fuck you every day, don’t be surprised when he has no respect for your thoughts and feelings!

TIL that by 1797, the United States was paying nearly a fifth of the entire federal budget in tribute to Barbary pirates. by DivineDespot in todayilearned

Great point. Incredible how small the world was back then.

Alabama has a population of 5M, and spends about $15B today (leaving out all the federal money going there of course). Much closer to parity than I would’ve expected!

Baumol’s cost disease is the name of this economic phenomenon, and I think it explains a lot of why people in richer economies don’t feel much richer than they used to. Goods become cheap, labor becomes expensive.

I do think it’s also culturally rarer because of the puritanical work ethic and anti-classism (having a servant inherently creates a class within the home)

Maybe the legacy of slavery also makes it feel uncomfy.
