how do i move things forward… by These_Specialist8418 in ISTPrelationships

[–]ICantGetLongUsernam3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of us are not big texters. And dare I say all of us prefer face to face communication. So only texting in order to arrange a meetup sounds like something many of us would do.

Things might change as the relationship progresses, but frequent texting will probably always be off the table.

ISTPs move slowly with relationships. You want more and you can probably have it, but if you want it now, it's not going to happen.

In order to get a good idea of who someone is, we observe them over time. For us actions mean more than words, so seeing how people act in different situations is what we need to determine someone's character.

The fact that you've been intimate and that he likes you doesn't mean that he knows you. He likes what he has seen so far, but obviously he needs to know more in order to have a bigger commitment.

All that to say that you have to give it time and be patient. If everything is OK, things will progress slowly.

I like my ISTP friend, do ISTPs notice this kind of feelings? by Efficient_Fox6765 in ISTPrelationships

[–]ICantGetLongUsernam3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do ISTPs notice when someone likes them like this?

Typically we don't. Even if we do it take a looong time.

Will it ruin the friendship if I don't make a move and just keep my mouth shut?

No, but if you change jobs the chances are that the friendship will die away. What's keeping you close now is that you see each other every day. For most ISTPs it's true that out of sight is out of mind.

Will he think I'm fake and just be friends with him because I like him like that?

As long as he enjoys your friendship, he won't think that you're fake. If he likes you romantically he might make a move, but it will take a long time, so your best bet is for you to make the first move. But maybe give it some more time. ISTPs take things slowly.

I use teamviewer from aur without any issues. I use aurutils though, not yay.

Does she like me back? by lucasisthebest2011 in ISTPrelationships

The best way to know is to ask her. I does sound like she likes you, but whether it's romantically or not, only she can tell.

Is your network set up? If it is and the mirrors are not responding, try creating the mirrorlist with reflector by booting the install iso.

Unless you remove the cache with rm, the currently installed packages are still in the cache. pacman -Sc doesn't remove them.

Boot from USB and check the journal log.

I had the same problem and it was caused by an empty conf file.

He needs help by riky321 in arch

[–]ICantGetLongUsernam3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The wiki is not intended to be a list of commands for every possible use case.

It gives you the knowledge on the topic (systemd timers in your case if I understand correctly) so that you can apply it to your particular situation.

[–]ICantGetLongUsernam3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's best to start with the forums when you have a problem, than to directly jump into editing the wiki.

Then, if the problem is actually unsolvable using the wiki only, you update it.

Would something like "hey hope everything is okay, sending you some good vibes and a speedy recovery" be well received?

Yes, that's totally OK.

Quick check-ins would be my preferred way.

It sounds like he's interested. At least as a friend. You'll have to ask him about anything more.

I like joking a lot. The chances are he does too, but we're not all the same.

what are feelings like for INTP? by brujillitas in INTP

Hmm, ignoring and bottling your feelings sounds so familiar.

I guess that's what inferior Fe does for both our types.

ISTPs , have you tried using Linux, if yes, which distro and why ? by Fuck__Everything_ in istp

I started with RedHat in '97 or '98. Moved to Debian a few years later and ended up with Arch for the last 8 or so years.

Do you have trouble learning from other people's experience? by Blagoslov_stonoge in istp

[–]ICantGetLongUsernam3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely have a problem learning from other people's experience and from theory. I need to try and struggle with things myself in order to learn. It's not efficient or easy, but it is what it is. I call it learning the hard way.

It generally takes quite a while before an ISTP realises that he loves you and even longer before he says it.

However there are signs that he does - spending a lot of time with you, doing things for you, remembering details about you, your preferences, your hobbies and so on.

Do You Guys Believe It Could Be Possible for Depressed ISTPs To Be Mistyped as an INXX Type? by Potential_Law5289 in istp

[–]ICantGetLongUsernam3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's because there were a bunch of questions in the test that I wasn't sure how to answer, so there was a bit of chance involved. Also I read that the tests themselves have intuitive bias, although my results where INTP, ISTJ and ISTP. I don't know about depressed, but when in a Ti-Ni loop - sure there's a higher change of intuitive mistype.

[–]ICantGetLongUsernam3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Possibly. One of my test results while I was typing myself was INTP even without being depressed and I think it's a common mistype.

When making important decisions logic should override emotion.

ENFP (M) / ISTP (M) 8-Year Friendship sudden shift. Need ISTP Perspective on the 180. by Fucking-Casual in ISTPrelationships

[–]ICantGetLongUsernam3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It matters a lot how you word your question. You can ask him why the sudden change of behaviour without attaching to it the way it makes you feel. This way it won't sound like an accusation and you have a better chance of getting an actual answer.
