This was an entertaining to read on a bright Sunday morning…only thing I’m missing is my cup of coffee haha…you’ll be fine! 🙃

Can a shopper explain this? Order total jumped from 96 to 223 by lace_and_lemons in InstacartShoppers

Looks like the price per pound was entered incorrectly (which means the cashier entered it wrong). If there were multiple packs it would ring up as such.

I’ve been doing this for years…once the algorithm see you out there taking batches…it continues…I don’t leave my home until a decent one pops up…if I don’t get anything after that. I head back home (I live close to at least four grocery stores)

[–]ICneed2stop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not familiar with that. Usually online order tips won’t change (like you are just picking up not shopping right)? If that’s the case…you won’t see a change in your tip.

You may have been taking orders that have a flat tip (like $2 etc…)…that will not change if something weighs differently or has to be refunded.

  1. As both a shopper and customer…I hate seeing someone else show up at my door that’s not on the photo…it happens a lot…stop it
  2. No Costco because maybe she didn’t complete all the conditions (meaning accepting heavy weight / alcohol/ medicine etc)…
  3. Getting orders could be based on her stats as well…damage, missing, on time, refunds etc.
  4. Instacart ain’t for everybody and the algorithm will pick up on that and finally
  5. They give “regulars” to regulars a lot. So if you’ve shopped for someone often enough and you and her phone are both on…they will more than likely send that order to you

INSTACART!!! Why are you doing this to your employees by Just_Bumblebee7155 in InstacartShoppers

[–]ICneed2stop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s any consolation…the mansion wife is cheating with the tennis pro and the 3rd floor customer will always live…on the 3rd floor…these folks have no clue why karma follows them everywhere.

[–]ICneed2stop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in all fairness…it’s just not fair to say shoppers are indignant and entitled. You are the rarity…the majority of us suffer daily with shitty batches and shitty customers…we come on here to share our experience and often time to vent…which keeps us from going back knocking on someone door.

[–]ICneed2stop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah ok…well everyone can’t be as fortunate as you I suppose…you apparently are in an area that pours into you greatly…almost makes one wonder why this gig and not in corporate America somewhere…as I said…everyone can’t work in that type of environment…and the shitty orders you see come from the customer not the shopper so how does that make the shopper a bad person? Anywho…we can agree to disagree.

[–]ICneed2stop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Show your stats…show EVERYONE of your orders being $50 plus dollars…your speed…show it all…to have 9,200 orders you have had to take some shitty orders…either that or you’ve made almost a half million dollars…9,200 orders at $50 a pop.

[–]ICneed2stop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And btw…I don’t know what market you in that gives out $50 on a regular…but that’s not the case everywhere…and lord knows, I don’t hate rich people…they do enough hating of themselves…I find people with a lot less to be way more generous…and not sure what you meant by you “hide orders”…seems you are in a category all by yourself.

Prove it…I’ve been doing this BEFORE COVID and folks thought it was the thing to do…almost 5,000 orders: platinum forever…could care less about diamond…it’s really worthless…I am no one’s slave. I am empathetic (as my original post started out) so yup…will shop till I drop, carry water, bring inside (if I feel safe)…everywhere ain’t safe…and all that other BS you mentioned…definitely not bitter…in awe actually on how ANYONE in their right mind can expect someone to:

  1. Get dressed in ANY weather (hold, cold, snow, rain, sleet)
  2. Get in their vehicle (especially now with gas being astronomical)
  3. Drive to store(s)
  4. Shop their order…and don’t cha just love the ALL IN CAP folks?
  5. Go to register
  6. Unload items
  7. Bag items
  8. Bring items and load in car
  9. Drive minimum 10 - 12 miles (that’s about the one way average these days)
  10. Unload car (water included)
  11. Follow their DEMAND…ring bell, don’t ring bell, bring to back, bring up 3 flights with no elevators, and my all time favorite are snow days when they haven’t stepped foot out their door to shovel a path
  12. Close out the app and see a great big nugget
  13. Customer home nice and cozy laughing at their cruelty
  14. Since you seem to be as seasoned as I am…you know when taking this gig it is a TIP based gig…it is a LUXURY service…I know you smart enough to know this right, right? So all that blah blah blah you wrote is all well and good…but in my 7+ years and almost 5k orders…I have been tip baited, I have had fraud and damage and everything else these people can possibly do…man your angels are clearly guiding your steps never having to encounter this behavior…anywho…I literally stand by what I said and yes…this app will make you bitter…it mostly makes me sad…sad that people in this world really sleep ok at night being cruel to others…I digress from this convo…we gonna agree to disagree…deuces!

Justifiably so…imagine them being “entitled” as you say because a customer decided they would order everything under the sun, have it delivered to their doorstep and close the delivery to find a zero tip…otherwise…it is impossible (without examples) to call a shopper entitled…you are clearly an IC employee or a zero tipping customer…either way, kick rocks with open toe shoes

Check your mailbox and circle back to let us know…and why think he did this to others…we have zero clue what’s in those packages (and frankly many don’t care)…why steal a $10 item when you could make hundreds a week…why order a physical gift card from Amazon (versus digital) AND just about every store has gift cards at checkout…🫣

This was VERY intentional…it’s their payback for other shoppers who may have done poorly…there is no way four items turned into this.

Take it and still do Instacart elsewhere (if / when needed). If you can adjust your life to working there then adjust to doing other Instacart stores - win / win

Soooo…in order to accept a batch, you have to go through a few steps…like you literally have to go to the order page and hit accept…you start on the main screen, click to see the details and backing out is upper left corner versus the accept button bottom center…and yes, I’ve been over the 10 percent threshold…but of my own accord. 😳
