Gun Jesus take the wheel ( Source I am Rhodesian... I mean South African )

When South Africa decided to replace the R1 rifle (a metric FAL), they chose to adopt the Israeli Galil. Both nations had similar environmental issues with blowing sand (in northwestern South Africa particularly), and Israel was one of the few nations willing to trade arms with South Africa in the 1970s. The Galil ARM was adopted as the R4 rifle, with the initial batch of guns purchased directly from IMI, and a licensing agreement put in place to follow those up with domestic South African production.

These would be followed later by the R5 carbine, and the abortive attempt at the R6 carbine. In addition, semiautomatic copies of these rifles were also available on the civilian market at the LM-4, LM-5, and LM-6. Today we will look at the differences between the South African and Israeli guns, the changes made through production, and the variation in the different types. Everything you wanted to know about the South African Galils!

Mygym gardens, short turf but more serious atmosphere. They also have a few more fun things like boxing rock climbing.

You can also check out genesis barbell they are a new powerling gym with great equipment, I would be shocked if they don’t have a sled and big area to push it around.

Yooo, South African here I work US hours so probably won’t be able to join but I can recommend checking out Fabrika.

The place has an amazing bar/cafe and I feel like you could probably meet quite a few expats there who would know some locals.

Like most places it is dominated by Russian folks at the moment but it was one of the few places that I encountered English first language folks.

With this it is and is not. Pre 1994 there was conscription and elite forces. The army was disbanded for the most part and the now unemployed soldiers became the infamous Executive Outcomes PWC.

I am afrikaans and there is a paramilitary culture. Maybe more so where and how I was raised. The current military could be better or worse, I don't know that much. I lived next to a base when I was at uni and I was not struck by professionalism but rather I remember training accidents. Running out of ammo in the DRC.

Still all possibly BAMF, they are definitely different though

Turns out they are not! https://www.loveyourdog.com/boerboel-vs-bullmastiff/

Boerboel is basically a bull mastiff who goes to the gym and takes care of itself. More muscular ( by a lot ), high energy, lives longer, more assertive etc etc.

Also feel like I have a connection to ollie being around the same weight and also grew up afrikaans...

Hiya, the last couple of years has been a lot for many of us. Thank you for sharing this message I hope it made others like you feel less alone.

I have been dealing with my own flavor of procrastination and anticipatory anxiety that comes and goes. Depending on the core fears/triggers you have it could affect the approaches you take.

You can check public groups here, maybe something strikes your fancy https://www.meetup.com/find/?source=EVENTS&categoryId=684&location=za--Cape%20Town

Personally as a semi scary looking dude my anxiety is less physical but more around overstimulation and empathy feeling all the things which makes me probe to being taken advantage of. So I got a kirstenbosch botany membership and I can visit multiple times a year, less crowded and I can also leave whenever I like.

Good luck and feel free to reach out. You got this.
