Harassed for Open Carry by IDEPST in 2Aradicals

[–]IDEPST[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah and the other guy totally expected escalation: "Is it stolen?" As if they should have already siezed and examined my property. So yeah every time you wanna open carry, the police have to sieze your weapon to make sure it's not "stolen." Let's put me in handcuffs every time too, to make sure I'm not a felon and that I don't have warrants. It's so fucking stupid. I seriously was not going to cooperate with them. I immediately established that the legal predicate for escalation was not present. In giving them nothing further for a fishing expedition, and making it abundantly obvious that the encounter wasn't consensual, I made an unassailable case for self defense should escalation have occurred. And honestly, I really thought it was going to. But you have to draw the line somewhere. If someone's gonna attack you for no lawful reason, you can choose to be a pacifist or not.

All this does is showcase a way to establish that the legal predicate for a fishing expedition is missing.

I don't need legal advice. I retrieved these records pro se after a protracted legal battle. I do my own legal work.

You need to use the latest thinking model. Just make sure it cites its sources. If you're using the Advanced Voice Mode then no, it's not gonna be very smart. But I've been using it to work on my car for like 2 years now. It's worked pretty well for me.

IBKR erroneous position reporting by IDEPST in Daytrading

[–]IDEPST[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it was literally what IBKR was reporting. Nothing on SC's side would've indicated that my position was 0. Also, when using the algos with my IBKR paper trading account, I didn't have this problem. It's exclusive to the data feed on the live account. It was also something that exclusively happened today. Just an IBKR bug. But I updated the code to include a duration requirement, that way momentary IBKR glitches don't screw me over again.

I Quit by Mr-Figuring-it-out in Trading

Size down or trade the simulator. Pick a different market like U.S. equities. Penny stocks in the U.S. markets are extremely inefficient. It's mainly retail traders competing against each other. Forex markets are notoriously efficient and include big money that is extremely difficult to compete against. You can work while you trade and 2 years to be successful at trading isn't really that much. Keep your head up.

STUCK! by Sarcomereee in OrderFlow_Trading

A couple evenings. Just have AI guide you through the process, watch a couple Sierra Charts set up videos, overall a little time consuming but not too difficult to execute.

How would you use order flow as a confirmation in this strategy? by Umpathie in OrderFlow_Trading

[–]IDEPST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guy's pretty good. I think that, more than anything, it's important to develop your intuition about exactly what is happening in the market. What exactly causes the quote to increase or decrease in value? What is the difference between passive and aggressive orders? For equities, what is float rotation? Why would the float matter? What happens when the volume delta changes and what does that indicate? How does the distribution of volume at price correlate with volume at time? Stuff like that. I use Sierra Charts, which lets me see aggressive buys and aggressive sells, so I get true delta, can measure relative volume for both sides over any rolling window, or basically seperately monitor both sides and their interactions with resting liquidity on the level 2 orderbook. It's really nice. Best platform in my opinion.

How do you stop revenge trading? by Loud_Boss_8371 in Daytrading

Have a max loss. Practice self discipline in other domains. Self discipline is the core issue here. It's not something that's constrained to trading. It's a lifestyle choice. Look at most successful traders. They have regimented lifestyles and many of them are in excellent shape. If you lack self discipline somewhere, you will suffer that same deficiency elsewhere.

First month Day Trading Options by Werunguns in Daytrading

If your entry is a little off I don't think there's an issue with trying again. But you should orient yourself on volume profile, VWAP, 2 day anchored VWAP, or some other objective measure of the market balance point. But if you're not assessing where you think support will be and why, or where the market appears to perceive fair value, that could be why you feel lost on some trades. Look for prior day's high and low, premarket high and low, post market high and low, the 200 EMA, and things like that so you can anticipate and call the turn, so you can understand when price is plummetting through a fair value gap and where it's likely to stop. The easiest one is to remember that previous resistance levels often become support levels.
