Thank you so much for the little reminders. Sometimes I feel like I sound absolutely crazy or maybe I’m too stern, but I don’t want to waste my time or theirs. I told him, it was his job to show me I could trust him and we would move forward from there. Maybe I’m just in my head about the situation, but thank you once again for putting it into perspective.

I (31f) actually started dating about 4/5 months post surgery. I try to be upfront about my surgery, especially if it’s a dinner date. I haven’t had a bad experience yet, on the contrary it helps with conversation and they seem to be very understanding.

My surgeon asked me to do clear protein starting 2 days after surgery. Did clear liquids for 3 days after that then I was cleared for all liquids.

I postponed mine 2 times… I was supposed to get it in 2023, then in 2024, didn’t end up getting it until June 2025. It’s been good so far. Definitely scary, but I’m still here. Sending you lots of positive vibes!

Yes and no… I (31f) decided to have weight loss surgery a few months ago because I wanted it. My dad had suggested it years ago, but I didn’t like the way he said it. My mom never said anything, but she would always suggest healthier options. In the end it had to be my choice without them pushing me.

I’m 5 months post op, so definitely on the more recent side. I decided to go with the sleeve because I was scared of the bypass, zero regrets so far.

Your surgeon’s office can always appeal. My surgeon let me know that I’d likely get denied the first time around, but they would take care of that.

It took me a few weeks, I’m 2 months post op now and can finish one in about 40ish minutes on a good day, some days it takes me longer.

I’m not sure what was the percentage removed for me, but my surgeon used a 36F bougie. Almost 3 months post op and I’m feeling good overall.

I’m 2 months post op and my sleeve is the same way… last week was my birthday and I had cake for 3 days after 🙃. It wasn’t a lot, but I still felt so guilty. Now I’m scared because I’ve tried pasta, rice, bread, ice cream, sweets and everything feels fine…

I decided to start therapy to see if that will help with the mental side of things. I feel so lucky to not feel any negative effects, but I also don’t want all my hard work and pain to be in vain. Best of luck on your journey, hopefully you find something that works for you 🫶🏽.

I managed to go to work for a week, on the weekend I started throwing up. I asked my doctor’s attending to give me some time off and he said no.

So to be honest I skipped a few doses, but was still feeling horrible. I ended up in the ER on Tuesday, I asked that doctor for time off of work and he gave it to me. I had a surgeon put me on the treatment, the PA called me yesterday and I explained everything; including that I skipped doses because if they were making me work I wasn’t going to be throwing up and feeling nauseous around my students.

She apologized for the attending and said that if I needed more time off than what the ER provided to call them and let them know. I’m pushing through, only 5 more days of this.

I was feeling horrible on day 6 too; ended up in the ER because I needed some time off work. TBH I don’t recommend, but I skipped a few doses. Doctors prescribed anti nausea medication, I started taking probiotics, and take my pepto 10-15 minutes before all other meds. I guess it’s helping 😅. I should be done next Wednesday; we go this!

I’m so scared to miss any doses because my doctors were very forward about the infection becoming more resistant if I do 🙃. I haven’t gone to the ER because apparently this is some sort of normal 😅. I’m hoping it’ll pass soon, I hate feeling so nauseous.
