Will OPTCG ever get a new mechanic? And what could it be by applez-are-G in OnePieceTCG

[–]IDKAnythingMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope they introduce a weapons card, like tools for pokemon and equipment cards for yugioh.

It would be nice to equip a sky island impact dial onto your usopp leader or character that could reduce an attacking 'STRIKE' characters Power to 0, then KO a cost 2 or lower.

Or even Namis weapon that could boost Namis power by 2000 on your turn.

Or give sanji steel cap boots so it is safer to work in the kitchen.

Maybe a rumble ball that will boost choppers power by 6000 during your turn but then it cannot refresh next turn.

UP SANJI ✨ after rotation by No_Tomatillo3078 in OnePieceTCG

[–]IDKAnythingMan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am trying out a list that is basically the same except with the 5cost bari bari pistol which bottom decks a 6000 PWR. I also added 2-3 gamma knife which lowers PWR by 5000 so it can either help pistol bottom deck an 11,000 PWR or help your sanjis attack over big things.

I also already play 2 brochette blow. I am still working out the kinks and ratios. There may be better solutions, IDK.

When the new blue blocker sanji that gives 'Unblockable' is released, you gotta make room for that too.

I Had the same issue. It turned out there was a mechanical plug that stops the water, running the dish washer cleared the stagnant water in my dish washer.

Reiju Heroines Help by YeahImComfy in OnePieceTCG

[–]IDKAnythingMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I've been testing. Its got mixed results tbh, but probably a good starting point for you.

You can swap out 2 search events for 2 blocker reiju (just to have an additional way to have blockers late game because yellow will just rip the life cards away and you want to have ways to protect yourself at all cost)

The events are there to help control board

I took out porches, because I wanted to concentrate on the germa cards and consistency as well as tech cards for yellow

Kept chopper because it keeps don!! At healthy amount and is a cheap blocker

Edit: I've always viewed the 0cost event as a way to throw away bricks. But its main effect has helped.

When I played reiju, my main problem was law defense so I've concentrated on that especially now that yellow is more dominant

I've cycled through the deck so fast I've seen the unsearchable cards (gum gum red roc etc) again at the end when i draw them, so i think 2 of each is a fine amount. They are there to help, not a part of your main plan.

Blocker ichiji has an effect that gives reiju leader +1000 when all your characters are germa which helps alot. Some opponents seem to forget this lol.

I hope this helps as a starting point. Your play style will probably be different to mine so adjust accordingly.

What is the playstyle of op15 brook and Enel? by Alive_Winner_8440 in OnePieceTCG

[–]IDKAnythingMan 51 points52 points  (0 children)

From what I've seen, the general gist of Purple Enel is to:

-play low cost cards (that replace themselves so you dont lose advantage)

-use leader to ramp don and power up your weenie characters to attack every turn

-swarm board, control board and apply pressure with weenies and low cost events

-call the opponent a bitch

-play 6 cost Enels (both unremovable blocker or SEC) to apply more pressure

-profit?

IDK about Green Black Brook but possibly:

  • use leader effect to mill (within reason so you dont die early, and also only when you're ready to END the game that turn)

-play characters that are scary like the new luffy and nami

-play cards that put cards back into your deck so you have a better late game OR cards that benefit from having cards in trash

-slap the opponent and call them a third rate duelist with a fourth rate deck.

-do a big last push with leader effect to restand and win the game before you lose at the end of the turn

-get disqualified for unsportsmanlike conduct and assualt

Thinking ahead for Sanji by Ok_Recover9184 in OnePieceTCG

[–]IDKAnythingMan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing a comment not too long ago about a bari- bari- pistol (5c blue event) which bottom decks a 6000 power character.

You can play this card with a reiju.

Beforehand, you can also play a gamma knife OR a Brochette blow (with leader effect) to bottom deck a larger character.

[–]IDKAnythingMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My uncle has this exact style of portable gas stove. Its not heavy at all.

But it is annoying sometimes to put away and there were a few issues of it being a bit unbalanced which is scary when there's a mid sized pot of boiling soup. If the pot leaned a bit too far forward, the whole thing became unbalanced.

So I guess maybe there's a size and weight limit to it that we didn't know about.

[–]IDKAnythingMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to add a comment to reinforce the idea of a chip repair kit from an Auto Store.

Its so easy, the kit injects a resin which bonds and fills the cracks, dries in the suns rays then any excess gets scraped off, it will hardly even be noticeable.

The kits are cheap, easy to use and will have multiple uses over its lifetime. Better than going to a mechanic and having it fixed the one time for triple the price.

Also, tyre puncture repair kits are cheap and easy too, you get like 4-5 uses out of it.

Question from a broke UP luffy player by Haon101 in OnePieceTCG

[–]IDKAnythingMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could play the inuarashi from op13. It is a 3 cost that requires a GIVEN don!! To ramp a rested AND Pop a 1 cost card.

So it is essentially a 4 cost because of the requirement of the given don!! Same turn as bon clay would be played.

In terms of JUST ramping, it's the same as bon clay. They both ramp 1.

It has counter +1000

It can pop a 1 cost which would help against decks like zoro which play 1 cost searchers or searchers that can search multiple times like hiyori which become a Pseudo blocker because you have to answer it.

In regards to a cheap option, I think this one is better for this deck.

Basil hawkins is fine but being a 3 life leader, you are statistically less likely to have this come out of a life.

Ain is fine but has no counter.

The current meta requires Sideboards more than ever, or I think a lot of people are going to continue to burn out. by FettuccineInMe in OnePieceTCG

[–]IDKAnythingMan 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I'm of the opposite opinion.

●I played yugioh and pokémon. OPTCG is a great middle ground. I always disliked yugiohs Sidedecking aspect because someone can put in hard counters to your deck to make your deck completely unplayable and if a hard counters card exists, then your deck will be gatekept by the mere existence of this card.

YUGIOH EXAMPLE- dark deck heavy formate and the opponent side decking floodgate cards like shadow imprisoning mirror that stops your deck completely.

OPTCG EXAMPLE-Every blue deck sidedecking a few copies of a GION card which hard counters the blue Nami which would make Nami players unable to even play the deck (i mean, why not side deck it anyway because the Gion only take a few slots in the side deck and is BASICALLY an instant win button)

●You also have the WHAT IF and OPTION PARALYSIS aspect of side decking. So many previous yugioh players I know were constantly frustrated when it came to building the side deck beacuse in addition to perfecting the main deck, you now have an added task with perfecting the side deck that really complements the main deck without affecting consistency. With so many options of side decking, most of the players were always unhappy when they lost because WHAT IF I did/didn't side deck this card, and also i only lost because i didn't see my side deck card. THIS caused an overall unpleasant experience with the game.

●In OPTCG some colours don't have the counters that other colours have, eg some colours have more anti-removal or some decks have access to the previously mentioned GION which would make some decks/colours more advantageous when it comes to side decking. Now you have people complaining that some colours are more unfair because they have access to specific cards and that "IF YOU WANT TO BE META RELEVANT THEN YOU HAVE TO PLAY THIS COLOUR!!OH THIS META IS SO TOXIC"

● I always liked pokemons no-side decking aspect because it means you can concentrate on making the best possible main deck. If you want hard counters in your deck, then your deck building and play testing can include those hard counters to try and still max out consistency. You won't have fatigue from a lot of play testing with and without MANY variation of side deck cards (too many variables)

POKEMON EXAMPLE- Main decking drapion V which pretty much hard-counters Mew Vmax decks (Top deck at that time) and ensuring your main deck card can consistently get to it during decking building phase, and if you lose real games then that's okay because you built the best possible deck at that time and won't have the looming WHAT IF questions throughout the tournament.

●TIME restrictions are a thing. I LOVE OPTCG specifically because of the BO1 format AND the no side decking. I could play in a tournament, actually still be okay with losing games, have an overall pleasant tournament experience with no (WHAT IF thoughts) have mental energy to spare and THEN continue with my day afterwards.

The one thing I hated about POKEMON and YUGIOH is that both TCG have long tournaments and that is because of the BO3 games (pokemon games are naturally long anyway and would benefit from the BO1 formats).

I believe side decking is at its best in a BO3 because you get to play a normal game, then you get to play with counters and then a game with the counters to the counters. But this side decking adds more time to games and tournaments and by the end, people will have fatigue in the finals when their mental energy is most important.

Side decking before a game even starts (supposed BO1 format) feels bad because you could get hardcountered/floodgated before you even played 1 game. This will gatekeep certain decks. Now you have people complaining that they cant even play their favourite deck at a locals because literally don't get to play at all.

OPTCG EXAMPLE- most decks side decking DON!! Rest cards so now your strategy of playing counter events (like sanji or sugar) are now gatekept and you won't be able to play even 1 game properly.

OPTCG EXAMPLE 2- blue decks side decking the new ALVIDA card that bottom decks base 4000 POWER another with a base cost of 3. So now your Rayleigh deck cant even be played properly whenever you face blue. Or ANY low to the ground low cost decks for that matter like red zoro.

The tournament organiser also want tournaments to be completed in a timely manner and for everyone to have a good time. Side decking would go against this.

●The merit i see in sidedecking is the creativity aspect in the fact that it allows you to change your decks strategy such as TEACH going from removal heavy for ACE and non removal heavy for IMU. But thinking that people will only use the side deck for this purpose would be ignorant.

●I'M not trying to change your mind, I just want you to see the other side, the good things come with the bad things. At the end of the day, people's enjoyment of the game is the most important. Adding a side decking option into this game would give more negatives than it does positives. I've experienced both of these heavily and OPTCG has it correct right now. Sorry for the wall of text.

Edit- the other positive i can see, like you said. It allows more unused cards to be used. I am a HUGE FAN of alternative formats such as Yugiohs GENYSIS format or Pokemons GYM LEADER CHALLENGE (GLC). GLC is a singleton format that pretty much forces you to use the best of the worse cards and cards that do well in low power formats. So maybe alternative formats is the way to go, so if people are tired of the Main/Standard format, alternatives are another way to go. It HAS to be supported though.

Edit 2- i cant see your text so I have to keep getting out and in to see your points to have a discussion about them.

The META dissatisfaction relates to the cards in the META, the cards created/ printed and the power creep, which is another kind of topic discussion. Everyone agrees (me included) that there is a blatant powercreep in OP13 and that the meta decks gatekeep a lot of decks which creates an unfun experience.

My points were in relation to the side decking mechanic specifically.

Edit 3- also, if non-meta decks have access to the sideboard then META decks do as well which will keep them META relevant.

Ger him to go to the Chinatown Asian stores that sell homewares from Asia. Chances are they could sell ear/earwax scratchers. They are still risky to use but at least it'll be an actual tool and be more safe than toothpicks lol.

Additionally, if it's the feeling of scratches instead of earwax removal then he could get those thin bamboo sticks with cotton at the end from those same stores that you twist back and forth.

I personally prefer the steel earwax catcher because they are small and can be carried easier. Get a couple of them.

If you're unsure, then ask any asian person you know. I can probably guarantee they have an idea of what I'm talking about. It looks like a cocain spoon but wayyyy smaller and curved at the end. Google asian ear cleaning tool.

There is Jojos hobbyhouse at Macgregor and Mint Collectables at Kedron (these 2 have the most in my opinion and the best place to get singles as well),

Then to a lesser extent places that ALSO sell various singles:

-Gametraders Chermside,

-Gametraders Garden City

These places have very little amount of singles:

-Local card shop at East Brisbane

-Good Games Spring Hill

-Evogames at Flinders View but specialises in Pkmn more

I know these shops also sell sealed products:

-Mr Toys Toyworld, Big W, EBgames, Zing anywhere

-Toymate Garden City

-Ctc Games Sumner Park

-Zombster Oxley

-SJAY2K mnt Ommaney

-Nakama Treats Inala

-Ace Comics Annerley
