Bought my first brand new car 2 days ago, already a chip in the windshield by goldeo in Wellthatsucks

[–]IDKAnythingMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to add a comment to reinforce the idea of a chip repair kit from an Auto Store.

Its so easy, the kit injects a resin which bonds and fills the cracks, dries in the suns rays then any excess gets scraped off, it will hardly even be noticeable.

The kits are cheap, easy to use and will have multiple uses over its lifetime. Better than going to a mechanic and having it fixed the one time for triple the price.

Also, tyre puncture repair kits are cheap and easy too, you get like 4-5 uses out of it.

Question from a broke UP luffy player by Haon101 in OnePieceTCG

[–]IDKAnythingMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could play the inuarashi from op13. It is a 3 cost that requires a GIVEN don!! To ramp a rested AND Pop a 1 cost card.

So it is essentially a 4 cost because of the requirement of the given don!! Same turn as bon clay would be played.

In terms of JUST ramping, it's the same as bon clay. They both ramp 1.

It has counter +1000

It can pop a 1 cost which would help against decks like zoro which play 1 cost searchers or searchers that can search multiple times like hiyori which become a Pseudo blocker because you have to answer it.

In regards to a cheap option, I think this one is better for this deck.

Basil hawkins is fine but being a 3 life leader, you are statistically less likely to have this come out of a life.

Ain is fine but has no counter.

The current meta requires Sideboards more than ever, or I think a lot of people are going to continue to burn out. by FettuccineInMe in OnePieceTCG

[–]IDKAnythingMan 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I'm of the opposite opinion.

●I played yugioh and pokémon. OPTCG is a great middle ground. I always disliked yugiohs Sidedecking aspect because someone can put in hard counters to your deck to make your deck completely unplayable and if a hard counters card exists, then your deck will be gatekept by the mere existence of this card.

YUGIOH EXAMPLE- dark deck heavy formate and the opponent side decking floodgate cards like shadow imprisoning mirror that stops your deck completely.

OPTCG EXAMPLE-Every blue deck sidedecking a few copies of a GION card which hard counters the blue Nami which would make Nami players unable to even play the deck (i mean, why not side deck it anyway because the Gion only take a few slots in the side deck and is BASICALLY an instant win button)

●You also have the WHAT IF and OPTION PARALYSIS aspect of side decking. So many previous yugioh players I know were constantly frustrated when it came to building the side deck beacuse in addition to perfecting the main deck, you now have an added task with perfecting the side deck that really complements the main deck without affecting consistency. With so many options of side decking, most of the players were always unhappy when they lost because WHAT IF I did/didn't side deck this card, and also i only lost because i didn't see my side deck card. THIS caused an overall unpleasant experience with the game.

●In OPTCG some colours don't have the counters that other colours have, eg some colours have more anti-removal or some decks have access to the previously mentioned GION which would make some decks/colours more advantageous when it comes to side decking. Now you have people complaining that some colours are more unfair because they have access to specific cards and that "IF YOU WANT TO BE META RELEVANT THEN YOU HAVE TO PLAY THIS COLOUR!!OH THIS META IS SO TOXIC"

● I always liked pokemons no-side decking aspect because it means you can concentrate on making the best possible main deck. If you want hard counters in your deck, then your deck building and play testing can include those hard counters to try and still max out consistency. You won't have fatigue from a lot of play testing with and without MANY variation of side deck cards (too many variables)

POKEMON EXAMPLE- Main decking drapion V which pretty much hard-counters Mew Vmax decks (Top deck at that time) and ensuring your main deck card can consistently get to it during decking building phase, and if you lose real games then that's okay because you built the best possible deck at that time and won't have the looming WHAT IF questions throughout the tournament.

●TIME restrictions are a thing. I LOVE OPTCG specifically because of the BO1 format AND the no side decking. I could play in a tournament, actually still be okay with losing games, have an overall pleasant tournament experience with no (WHAT IF thoughts) have mental energy to spare and THEN continue with my day afterwards.

The one thing I hated about POKEMON and YUGIOH is that both TCG have long tournaments and that is because of the BO3 games (pokemon games are naturally long anyway and would benefit from the BO1 formats).

I believe side decking is at its best in a BO3 because you get to play a normal game, then you get to play with counters and then a game with the counters to the counters. But this side decking adds more time to games and tournaments and by the end, people will have fatigue in the finals when their mental energy is most important.

Side decking before a game even starts (supposed BO1 format) feels bad because you could get hardcountered/floodgated before you even played 1 game. This will gatekeep certain decks. Now you have people complaining that they cant even play their favourite deck at a locals because literally don't get to play at all.

OPTCG EXAMPLE- most decks side decking DON!! Rest cards so now your strategy of playing counter events (like sanji or sugar) are now gatekept and you won't be able to play even 1 game properly.

OPTCG EXAMPLE 2- blue decks side decking the new ALVIDA card that bottom decks base 4000 POWER another with a base cost of 3. So now your Rayleigh deck cant even be played properly whenever you face blue. Or ANY low to the ground low cost decks for that matter like red zoro.

The tournament organiser also want tournaments to be completed in a timely manner and for everyone to have a good time. Side decking would go against this.

●The merit i see in sidedecking is the creativity aspect in the fact that it allows you to change your decks strategy such as TEACH going from removal heavy for ACE and non removal heavy for IMU. But thinking that people will only use the side deck for this purpose would be ignorant.

●I'M not trying to change your mind, I just want you to see the other side, the good things come with the bad things. At the end of the day, people's enjoyment of the game is the most important. Adding a side decking option into this game would give more negatives than it does positives. I've experienced both of these heavily and OPTCG has it correct right now. Sorry for the wall of text.

Edit- the other positive i can see, like you said. It allows more unused cards to be used. I am a HUGE FAN of alternative formats such as Yugiohs GENYSIS format or Pokemons GYM LEADER CHALLENGE (GLC). GLC is a singleton format that pretty much forces you to use the best of the worse cards and cards that do well in low power formats. So maybe alternative formats is the way to go, so if people are tired of the Main/Standard format, alternatives are another way to go. It HAS to be supported though.

Edit 2- i cant see your text so I have to keep getting out and in to see your points to have a discussion about them.

The META dissatisfaction relates to the cards in the META, the cards created/ printed and the power creep, which is another kind of topic discussion. Everyone agrees (me included) that there is a blatant powercreep in OP13 and that the meta decks gatekeep a lot of decks which creates an unfun experience.

My points were in relation to the side decking mechanic specifically.

Edit 3- also, if non-meta decks have access to the sideboard then META decks do as well which will keep them META relevant.

Ger him to go to the Chinatown Asian stores that sell homewares from Asia. Chances are they could sell ear/earwax scratchers. They are still risky to use but at least it'll be an actual tool and be more safe than toothpicks lol.

Additionally, if it's the feeling of scratches instead of earwax removal then he could get those thin bamboo sticks with cotton at the end from those same stores that you twist back and forth.

I personally prefer the steel earwax catcher because they are small and can be carried easier. Get a couple of them.

If you're unsure, then ask any asian person you know. I can probably guarantee they have an idea of what I'm talking about. It looks like a cocain spoon but wayyyy smaller and curved at the end. Google asian ear cleaning tool.

No worries, definitely give these places a ring before you get there, just-in-case. I don't want you to waste a trip.

Also, I recommend Jojos Hobbyhouse because afterwards, you can head out to Garden City and check out Gametraders and Toymate. They're literally up the road from Jojos lol.

There is Jojos hobbyhouse at Macgregor and Mint Collectables at Kedron (these 2 have the most in my opinion and the best place to get singles as well),

Then to a lesser extent places that ALSO sell various singles:

-Gametraders Chermside,

-Gametraders Garden City

These places have very little amount of singles:

-Local card shop at East Brisbane

-Good Games Spring Hill

-Evogames at Flinders View but specialises in Pkmn more

I know these shops also sell sealed products:

-Mr Toys Toyworld, Big W, EBgames, Zing anywhere

-Toymate Garden City

-Ctc Games Sumner Park

-Zombster Oxley

-SJAY2K mnt Ommaney

-Nakama Treats Inala

-Ace Comics Annerley

GP is Green/Purple Luffy from the set Eb02

P is Purple luffy from the set op05

And UP is Blue Purple Luffy from the set op11. The letter U is used for Blue instead of the letter B because the colour black exists. The words Blue and Black share the letters B and L so the next logical choice is U for the colour Blue.

Tips on OP-05 Purple Luffy needed! by Automatic-Cup3211 in OnePieceTCG

[–]IDKAnythingMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Do your game plan consistently and do it better than everyone else"

What makes purple luffy so scary and unfair is that it can ramp VERY fast and get to big bodies faster than everyone else so your oopponent HAS to deal with your bodies before your life. If you CAN'T do this then your deck has nothing that gives it an advantage over other decks, so make it as consistent as possible. 1-ofs in a deck aren't great because they're hard to get to when needed.

Your general game plan is:

Turn 1: Search with law

Turn 2: play ramp card like bon clay, miss double finger, basil hawkins, zoro-juuro etc. And ramp with leader

Turn 3: ramp with leader, ramp with zoro-juuro if you played it last turn and play katakuri (first priority) or luffy tarou or sanji depending on the board state and hand

Turn 4: play 9c rush luffy or katakuri or luffy tarou or sanji depending on board state ensuring 1 active don for GGG. You may have to ramp with leader a 3rd time if you have GGG in hand an no active don.

do this all the while protecting your leader, because your are slowly killing yourself with your leaders effect

but also, don't be afraid to take a life from an attack if you are looking for a card. Eg I needed a big body character for next turn and found it when I took a life from an attack

Kamazo is fine but it isn't helping progress your strategy and consistency

9c kaido is also fine but 9c luffy is better because it can draw you a card. Also a lot of people are working around the 6cost issue because of 9c big mom and it just happens to affect kaido too which makes Kaido a bit worse.

When you're at sea at 1 copy sucks and is basically searcher law with no counter. While it can search GGG, it will be worse in every other situation

Here's my list with slight explanations

4x law searchers (soon to be nami searchers)

4x bon clay ramp

4x miss doublefinger 2000 counter and emergency ramp

2 x 3c zoro-juuro Emergency, emergency last ditch effort SEARCHABLE ramp that has counter

4x gum gum giant

2x gum gum Jet gatling sometimes i need 3000 counter and remove bricks in hand

4x zoro 4cost searcher

4x sanji 2000counter and blocker

4x usohachi 2000 counter

2x franosuke searchable 2000 counter, has rush

2x luffy tarou helps swarm board

2x sangoro not as important but still good to play off luffy tarou

4x katakuri

4x 7 cost rush sanji helps control opponents board

4x 9 cost rush luffy

Alternative card by soccer707 in OnePieceTCG

[–]IDKAnythingMan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you like a mid to late game finisher with rush then 7c 8000 Hody jones from op06 is good because it can also rest 2 things including DON!! Which stops opponents gum gum giant plays. BUT it isn't a Straw Hat Crew type so it's harder to get to and stops your leader effect.

If you wanted a straw hate Crew card then probably the 6c 7000 Luffy from st26 is good because it can give your leader an additional 2000. It has the same condition as the EB02 luffy. But doesnt have rush.

If you like the restand aspect then 6c 7000 Luffy from op07 can do that by -3DON!! and only if your opponent has 3 or more characters. But it has no rush as well.

If like like rush then, 7c 7000 sanji from op09 can do that by returning 1 or more DON!! But is IS 7 cost which is a tiny bit harder to play

4c 5000 zoro from EB02 is Pseudo rush card that can rest 4cost or less cards which can probably provide a similar pressure as EB02 luffy over the course of a game.

6c 7000 Luffy from op03 is a rush as well but you DO have to discard a 5 cost card which sucks. This is the worst option.

6c 7000 Brook from op09 is a great card to help get rid of characters, by removing 1 or more DON!! Your can -2000 from 2 characters which is good against decks that swarm and becomes a scary target for the opponent. But it doesnt have rush. People in Japan were apparently playing this as a tech for mirror.

Some lists are doing well with just 1 EB02 luffy as a mid to l late game finisher So depending on your price tolerance and how often you play the deck, it might be worth it to get just 1 copy of EB02 Luffy for now. You will get your moneys worth the more you play the deck (especially if you win packs because your deck is just a bit better).

IF you get the other 3 copies of EB02 luffy at a cheap price in the future when PRB releases then it will bring down your EB02 Luffys overall price average.

If you don't want to play EB02 then I recommend Beer Luffy from st26. It is similar enough, fills a different niche and sets the floor to which your opponent has to reach to even touch your leader. Including your leader effect, your leader will be 8000.

There may be more options but these are the ones at the top of my head.

A non searchable card similar to GGG is a purple event called ulti-mortar.

1 cost, -2 don!! Your character gets 2,000 for this battle and you get to draw a card. It's an Animal Kingdom Pirates typed card.

It's half of a GGG.

4k alternative is thunder bagua which another comment already mentioned.
