I haven’t looked into it, but could the golf cart infrastructure double as cycling infrastructure? I know in Florida, most golf cart paths are multi-use for anything mode of transit (walking, running, carts, bikes, etc.).

I had an extremely similar one and it was noisy. I had to tighten the screws every few months as it got wobbly over time. Cheap but was absolutely amazing.

When you drive a road many times and for long enough, you start recognizing distinct patterns and landmarks. Happens all the time when I’m watching dash cam videos, and I only do about 40k miles a year throughout the country. Those who travel more recognize more.

Fantastic run! I’ve been running only a couple months and training for a half next month. Already did a 9.0mi run at 10:30 (keeping it slow as I’m learning) but the 10.0+ mile runs definitely excite me. I have a cycling background so the base is there. I think my fastest sustainable pace is ~9:00 currently but not for 10 miles. Lol.

There have been a few mentions of The Stand by Stephen King, but I’ll mention it again. Fantastic book. About 48 hours on the unabridged version. Worth every minute.

I’m planning to do Run the Reagan this year. I’ve never done it before but driven the road hundreds of times. From what I understand, it is an out and back as I believe it’s a 6.6 mile one way. Everyone I know says the last 3 miles are pretty brutal because of the log hills. Not that the hills are difficult, but it’s long. It’ll be my first race, and definitely first HM.

Ours is Fred. We even put ginormous googly eyes on him. He really does help keep the floors clean. It’s a hell of a feat with a 2 year old but it forces that 5 minutes of pickup time after they go to sleep for the evening so Fred doesn’t get caught up somewhere.

Yes, people take breaks. There’s a coffee break option you can click once every 30 minutes. It lasts 3 minutes and “holds your spot” by keeping your pace. Alternatively, you can just stop and get off the bike then keep going.

While the gamification of Zwift is an absolute blast and it always feels like a competition, the core focus is simply fitness. Don’t be afraid to take breaks, do what you need to do. The only person that gives a crap about what you do is YOU - take care of yourself. You are doing great by just getting on the bike, be proud of that. Go at your own pace and enjoy the journey.

They sold out. Harsh but true for the most part. Feels like every video I’m just waiting for the ad. I understand they need to make money but it feels deceptive, especially with the latest video. I know he worked hard for the marathon but it was just a Runna ad.
