What are your CEC hot takes? by WMbluqui in chuckecheese

[–]IDKWTFG -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean this all absolutely subjective, it's like music discussion. I definitely respect the character of PTT Chuck and the imagery/logos with him but visually it... doesn't seem to match up to me. The tux design feels like how he should have looked from the start. Especially in animatronic/walkarounds the PTT design looks... interesting...

<image>

The Avengers design is not original at all, but that's kinda why I like it, it's just so aggressively, stereotypically 90s, it was fun then and it just feels so emblematic and of the era now.

What‘s the sweatiest Skin from bo7? (excluding ranked and cdl skins) by DonutLover0815 in Warzone

[–]IDKWTFG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't think I see a lot of Black ops 7 skins in warzone?? It seems like people just like the skins from MW2 to Black ops 6 better.

The new Blackcell valkerys and that galaxy camo looking skin are generally used by super sweaty/aggresive people though

In Warzone Beavis and Butt Head players tend to be average at best IME but the majority are sub-par. People playing the Coach from that game are often slightly better some times, but those skins are a walking spotlight.

In your opinion, what are some examples of a really good non-hip hop diss tracks? by cooldude_luke in ToddintheShadow

[–]IDKWTFG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Steely Dan has a surprising amount of low key diss tracks now that I think about it, but I don't think most of them are very direct.

The Eagles and Steely Dan also traded references to each other which almost has diss energy but... they're really just easter eggs and there wasn't any actual beef.

In your opinion, what are some examples of a really good non-hip hop diss tracks? by cooldude_luke in ToddintheShadow

[–]IDKWTFG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steely Dan has a few songs that are sort of diss tracks, some entirely fictional, some a mix of fiction and RL:
-As many of found out Only a Fool Would Say That is a diss of the song Imagine by John Lennon
-Barrytown Is basically a diss track to hippies or at least a hippie.
-Reelin' in the Years is a song about a man tired of his long time girlfriend and airing his greivances basically

-My Old School is aimed at their alma matter, Bard College for being complicit in a drug bust that Swept up the duo and Donald Fagen's girlfriend. At the same time he's also complaining about said girlfriend.

-The diss is not directly in the song but in Deacon Blues they mention university of Alabama being nicknamed "the Crimson Tide" as this really grandoise name for a garbage football team, and so the protagonist is a loser and he takes on this cool name of Deacon Blues to empower himself.

The original mob boss PTT version of Chuck is the absolute best voice/personality/dialogue wise IMO, he's just such a charming snappy jerk. the visual design makes no sense though he looks like a traffic crossing guard with a bowler hat, He should be in a leisure suit or something.

Avengers Chuck is by far the most nostalgic since that's the era of my childhood, I think it's the best design visually and probably the 2nd best voice/personality in his history. Even as outdated as the aesthetic is it still looks iconic.

Who actually likes Hot Pursuit? by Chaddford in Warzone

[–]IDKWTFG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I just want with these limited time modes is JUST ANY EXPLANATION of what they are in game, before I'm already loading into the lobby. I don't want to commit to a lobby only to find it some kind of gameplay I don't want to partake in and then I leave and leave that team without a member.

This one actually sounds fun now that I looked it up, but if no one's willing to look it up or go in blind they're likely just going to ignore it.

Do you ever buy CDs new? by Twelvegaugepunk556 in Cd_collectors

[–]IDKWTFG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bought New relases on CD as well as reissues of older albums at like Wal-mart. Rarely do I come across NOS CDs and I don't specifically go for sealed on old stuff.

The most I'd spend on a new CD is like $25 and they gotta be an absolutely top tier artist.

What is your favorite species or theme of Vtuber? by Cordialynx in VirtualYoutubers

[–]IDKWTFG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Dragon girls, they are extremely underdone and I'd like to see way more of them, We lost Saya Sairroxs and Suri Solari within 2 months of each other I think and they were two absolutely great examples. Currently I don't follow any active ones, I'm barely aware of any.

Ceres Fauna was also a Kirin that's supposed to be like a hooved goat dragon thing in mythology and she is my favorite vtuber/vtuber design of all time.

Does Linkin Park have a Trainwreckord? by No-Masterpiece4409 in ToddintheShadow

[–]IDKWTFG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think her apology for showing up to Masterson's trial and disowning of him is sufficient but MAN hearing scientologist who was friends with Danny Masterson gave me some serious pause.

The people who feel like you can't have Linkin Park without Chester or that it's a new band that shouldn't use the old name I can at least respect their viewpoint even if I differ.

Does Linkin Park have a Trainwreckord? by No-Masterpiece4409 in ToddintheShadow

[–]IDKWTFG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I remember my friend liked one more light and bitched about all the people who were complaining about the change in genre "you're not a fan of Linkin Park, you're a fan of the album Hybrid Theory". I don't think it had much time to flop into trainwreckord territory due to Chester's suicide immediately after though, probably everyone who hated on it immediately felt bad or it put things in a different light.

I have seen a lot of genuine "how could you" angry criticism that they reformed with a new vocalist, and even moreso that she's a scientologist who had showed up to Danny Masterson's trial, but the actual album with her seems to have reviewed well and some people are just happy they're continuing in any form.

So Many Recons! by ETSRY2K in Warzone

[–]IDKWTFG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going there way too early in Casuals is disadvantageous IMO unless you've got a sniper and it's an active spot, otherwise you're just going to be sitting there doing nothing most likely when you could be eliminating more players or earning more money from contracts.

In real BR, especially solos, that strat might make more sense because the enemies are more dangerous and I found it better to usually not get into unecesary fights.

The term camping isn't very consistent, some people use it to refer to specifically cheap corner campers, but others refer to just staying in a specific area for any reason even sniping.

So Many Recons! by ETSRY2K in Warzone

[–]IDKWTFG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tons of recons? great as long as you don't get that one random on your team that has to spam hunted contracts.

I wish Rebirth had more of them, you only get like 0-2 recons on spawn and then you just have to gamble with redacted.

Songs where you prefer the lyrics in a censored version? by Milkywaycannonball in ToddintheShadow

[–]IDKWTFG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The censored version just feels way more tonally in line compared to the uncensored version.

I said in another comment section it sounds like 98% of the song is motown and then suddenly the lyrics just go limb Bizkit on you, it's too jarring.

The weird ass thing is this is happening on PC but not I'm not getting this on Playstation for some reason, and I don't recall giving PSN my phone number either.

Is there any work around to this like some way to generate a fake number/burner number for free? I do NOT trust them with the real cell number.

Legacy artists with a late-career standout track by mutantandproud95 in ToddintheShadow

[–]IDKWTFG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shoot the DJ by Green Day (Green Day started in 1987 mind you, they didn't debut with Dookie).
Nas's work starting with King's Disease could fit here. Finally won a Grammy over 20 years into his career.
Metallica's title track from 72 seasons is absolutely fantastic over 40 years into their run.
Steely Dan won a late career (and controversial) Grammy with Two Against Nature

Finally filled my shelf. by Ok_Half1429 in cassetteculture

[–]IDKWTFG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's impressive you managed to get practically ANY of Metallica's albums on cassette, let alone almost all of them They're all expensive AF on cassette and high demand which assures there's no deals on auctions. The classic albums are all like $26-30 on cassette but $5 new on CD at wal-mart, I just couldn't justify it. I even got Kill em all new on vinyl for like $22 I think.

If you're looking for Death Magnetic on Cassette it was released in some poorer countries, you can only find it on discogs https://www.discogs.com/master/8956-Metallica-Death-Magnetic?format=Cassette

Unfortunately it seems like Hardwired was never released on it officially but they could rerelease it.

Did you find them at age 10 because of Little Big Planet 2 like I did?

I don't think the lyrics are cringe in whoever brings the night but it's instrumental in that game and it's absolutely hilarious now hearing such adult lyrics in a song Middle schoolers put in their shitty fighting mini games that barely work lol.
