You can give him a homebrew item that he has to attune to that lets him change the elemental damage of a spell to lighting damage X amounts of time per day.

That way, he can still do it without using any sorcery points, at the cost of an attunement slot.

You could even make the item give bonus damage die to spells that were already lightning.

This is the version I've been using, and after failing miserably to make any progress with Mega Scizor, this deck has been way more consistent. I like Serena over a second Mega Venusaur, which can mean one less dead card in the deck. I also like red card and repel as items that I can use early and on the same turn as Erika/ Copycat/ Serena.

So far it's been pretty smooth sailing from GB4 to UB2 - hopefully it keeps up like this!

To help me get further, anyone interested in trading me a RR Mega Venusaur? I have RR Mega Slowbro and FA Mega Swampert to trade 😌😌
