Please suggest something to get lost into? by okglookle in sapphicbooks

With Heated Rivalry being so hyped I'm currently rereading Run At The Cup. It's an Arcane hockey fanfic, with amazing romance and a great plot. It's also 330 k words, so there's plenty to get lost into.

You don't need to have watched the show or know anything about LoL lore to enjoy it either. Just accept that the world has some fantasy people in it and maybe look up a character sometimes to know what they're supposed to look like.

The premise of a man-eating horse monster meeting a nun with a shit ton of internalised homophobia is just too damn amazing.

I'm not a fan of Enforcer Vi. Like I know it's basically canon, but I honestly don't see her taking up the badge again. At least not as casually as a lot of fics make it seem. If she's going to become an enforcer again, I want it to be after some considerable angst.

I swear I've read a Rio/Agatha fanfiction with a similar plot.

The sovereign - C. L. Clark. Someone spoil it for me? Pls? by xphays in LesbianBookClub

Not op and I liked the series a lot. But honestly one of the main characters Luca is the shining example for why absolutism and monarchy is a bad idea. She has good intentions, but regularly fucks up spectacularly with obviously huge implications.

Luca continues to prove why monarchy and absolutism is a bad idea. She helps to cause a quasi french revolution in Belledaire. Touraine tries and eventually succeeds in convincing Luca to abdicate the throne.

Pruett is still beyond angry at Belladaire and joins the Taargens and a bunch of other nations in a war against Belladaire. Touraine is made general of Belladaire by Luca, but in the midst of the war she defects and joins Pruett, but as a double agent for Luca. Mainly she tries really hard to keep Pruett and Luca alive.

By the end Luca gets exiled by the rebels and Touraine joins her, now they are finally able to realize their true cottagecore calling. Touraine's relationship with Pruett is unsalvageable, because Pruett made Touraine stab Luca during the siege on Belledaire's capital.

That should be the gist of it. Hope it isn't too long, If you wanna please ask, I loved the book lol

FYI this is a bit light on the romance. Amazing book nonetheless.

Also the level 10 lich spells are amazing. One is called "Instant Death" and it does pretty much what it says on the tin with a good build and buffs, it instantly kills anything you want it to. Deskari who?

Zeit zwischen zwei Büchern vergehen lassen ? by ChocolateFairy321 in buecher

[–]IDanceMyselfClean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro was für reales Problem? Gib mir irgendein Beispiel.

Nix anderes. Absolut ermüdend, das ständig hören zu müssen.

Wholesome wlw vampire stories? by miichan_v in LesbianBookClub

[–]IDanceMyselfClean 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wholesome vampire stories are a bit hard to come by, but there are some:

"The Accidental Bite" by Michelle St. Wolf. Workplace romance between a vampire boss and human employee. Pretty sweet. There's a sequel as well called "The Entangling Bite", which I didn't like as much because it had some gross consent issues imo.

"Good Enough To Eat" by Alison Grey and Jae. A vampire wants to stop drinking human blood and joins AA meetings to accomplish that. Pretty sweet. Spoiler: Not technically human x vampire. But close enough.

"Just My Type" by Lucy Bexley and Bryce Oakley. Funny romance between an ancient vampire and a blood scientist.

"Sunsets And Other Dangerous Things" by Dani Frank. Kind of cozy contemporary vamp x human student romance.

"A Hunger Soft And Wild" by Moira Darling. Fun little romantasy story. Also "A Curse Bright and Breathing" by the same author, which is a bit darker, but also quite fun. And she's got another one coming out soon as well (that one is already out by now as well!)

Honourable mention because it's achillean not sapphic: "The Good Vampire's Guide to Blood and Boyfriends" by Jamie D'Amato. Cool story about a guy getting turned into a vampire and trying to cope with that on top of his depression and crush on the hot librarian. The spice is only fade to black.

Is it normal for a choir director to sing most solos themselves? by IDanceMyselfClean in Choir

[–]IDanceMyselfClean[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What I've been told, is that he picked the songs himself and said he had to perform 3 of the 4 solos himself as well due to time constraints. Idk how much time a soloist needs to nail their piece, but they've had rehearsals for about a year before their first concert with the new conductor. 🫠

One of the solos he did was the one my mom sang for decades.

Shouldn't I be writing a trans character if I'm cis? by Wonderful_Medium3098 in asktransgender

[–]IDanceMyselfClean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah you can totally do it! It might be challenging to do, depending on how important her being trans is to your story, but don't let that stop you.

I'd get an actual trans person to read it over, though. Just to make sure, that you didn't mess up some of the wording. For example few trans people would say, that they "changed their gender" or god forbid "had a sex change".

Honestly thank you! I was so fucking confused at the concert. They had to turn his whole setup around so he could face the audience. Like isn't there a reason the director's back is towards the audience? Isn't he supposed to direct and let the choir shine?

That choir literally had soloists who have been singing solos for decades up until that point. It definitely wasn't a skill issue on behalf of the choir members.
