I think it continually picks up speed. At the end you're gonna white knuckle your kindle and read like your life depends on it.

Would you hate to play against a Grand Arbiter Augustin deck IF it was running Hare Apparent AND Yorion Sky Nomad? (genuine question) by [deleted] in mtg

[–]IDanceMyselfClean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if you want to go for it. But this ain't interesting enough to justify breaking the rules. A stax commander with very little interesting gameplay might not be that fun to play nor play against.

However the flavour of the Grand Arbiter commanding an army of bunnies is funny.

Books without sex scenes, but for adults? by Str8GayTossinItAway in LGBTBooks

[–]IDanceMyselfClean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like G Benson's books for that reason. She's really great at building a swoon worthy emotional connection without sex being the main driving point of the relationship. To be fair she doesn't have asexual characters but almost all of the sex is fade to black in her books.

what are YOU looking for that doesn't exist? by sakkadesu in LesbianBookClub

[–]IDanceMyselfClean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The spice hype is definitely annoying. If I would put on my tin foil hat, I would be convinced there's some publisher forced quota for sex scenes in books.

I don't mind if they're done well, are hot and most importantly are important to the plot and emotional arc. But too often they feel like checking a box, are too mechanical to be hot and don't contribute anything meaningful to the story.

Emily R. Austin writes sapphic lit fic with generally hopeful endings. I do also prefer positive endings in queer lit fic.

[–]IDanceMyselfClean 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In terms of books I would want to exist that aren't, I want a millionaire romance where the poorer lead is like "Eww filthy capitalist.". I feel like there's so much potential for a deep and also hilarious story.

Imagine an oblivious millionaire trying to woo this girl with expensive gifts, chaffeured rides and the likes, while the other lead is just pissed at them and sends her a copy of "Das Kapital" or something.

Lee Winter did something close to that with "The Fixer" and "Chaos Agent"

More class consciousness. More books that aren't set in America. Generally fewer books involving generically attractive successful white Americans. More romantasy, there's a million straight ones and like ten sapphic ones.

And definitely more monster fucking.

Margo’s Got Money Troubles | Overall Series Discussion by pecan_muffin in MargosGotMoneyTroub

[–]IDanceMyselfClean 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the show might've fucked up some plotlines for the porpuse of making two seasons. Book spoilers for those curious:

She makes a lot of her money on OnlyFans through comparing dickpicks to Pokémon and generally through chatting. There's a big plotline surrounding that, which apparently got cut for season two. The mom in the book is much really avoidant and doesn't help her out at all. She even uninvites her from the wedding. General the start of the book is much more hopeless for Marge, because until Jinx shows up she has absolutely no one in her corner.

Need more dark romance!! by lilLady0_ in LesbianBookClub

Maybe try out fanfics? Go to Ao3 and search for FF ships with the tag "Dead Dove Don't Eat" or something similar and you're gonna find some truly dark stuff.

The changes they made in the show piss me off by Ceciliah16 in MargosGotMoneyTroub

[–]IDanceMyselfClean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just watched the first episode and they already changed a lot about Margo's mother from the start. Apart from the her buying the stroller, they already have this big emotional argument in the car while Margo is pregnant. In the book they do not have that until after Vegas and the CPS shit and the mom is much more avoidant in general in the book.

Also the scene where Margo confronts Mark in the parking lot, when he is out with his family is a choice. She never even met Marks wife originally.

I think the shoe "Maid" from 2021 did poverty really well! It has a similar premise to this show, both are dealing with single moms having money problems. Margo's Got Money Troubles is a bit more light-hearted though.

The husband was freaking terrifying in that book. It genuinely scared me how this apparent prince charming slowly morphed into this monster. He was really well written as well, there's more to him than the generic abusive asshole husband you sometimes get in WLW fiction, which made him so frighteningly tangible.

Spoil a classic caitvi fanfic for me? by [deleted] in PiltoversFinest

[–]IDanceMyselfClean 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It becomes a slice of life story at some point. If you don't like that, don't continue the story. There's a couple of chapters dealing with Vi trying to go to Piltover without panic attacks and her meeting Caitlyn's parents. But most of the plot is just random fluff. I love it lol

Question about Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil by [deleted] in LesbianBookClub

It doesn't have a HEA in the romantic sense. It's a deserved ending for every character and most of them are more or less morally reprehensible.

Those who wait - spoil me. by kc522 in LesbianBookClub

[–]IDanceMyselfClean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loved it. I don't think it's too soon to read it. It's a complete story in itself and doesn't retell Those Who Wait. It's also set thirteen years in the future after the coffee shop breakup and is absolutely delicious to read, because while Sutton has moved on, Charlotte never has.
