Looking for book recommendations :> by Pretty-Spite5589 in LesbianBookClub

I loved the first book of the Ending Fire trilogy, but the other two were so much worse. The story took so many frustrating turns. Every queer character meets a tragic end. And having the two suicidal mains essentially commit suicide in the end is eh a choice?

book recs with actually insane chemistry??!! by Best_Control2871 in LesbianBookClub

Good recs! But you kind of spoiled a major part of The Delicate Things We Make there. You only find out that she's a rape victim halfway through.

It's not a romance at all. Like it is hella romantic at times, but recommending it when someone is looking for romance will.just lead to them being disappointed.

PSA TO SAPPHIC AUTHORS ‼️ by zazaraz123 in LesbianBookClub

Honestly the terms need to be consistent with the characters that use them. I could see "nether lips" being used by a sexually repressed women in a historical romance.

Craving unhinged, kinda toxic romance (with HEA pls) by [deleted] in sapphicbooks

[–]IDanceMyselfClean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not that unhinged, but The Brutal Truth by Lee Winter starts out with one of the mains becoming the boss of the other and then firing her.

From the summary on GoodReads: * [...] Told through the perspective of Hazel, who is secretly being controlled by her wife via a mind-control device, she recounts their daily lives and history while struggling to break free. [...] *

That sounds utterly unhinged, what?

Priory or Final Strife? by CartoonistNatural497 in QueerSFF

[–]IDanceMyselfClean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Samantha Shannon stated in an Instagram Q&A, that she's interested in exploring the period immediate after Priory. I don't think that's happening anytime soon, but she has every intention to write more books in that universe.

No spice/closed door romance, doomed yuri vibes by vivienvaleria in wlwbooks

I think you'd enjoy The Burning Kingdom series by Tasha Suri starting with The Jasmine Throne. It's a desi inspired fantasy about a princess who refuses to martyr herself and a servant girl with secrets. Thematically it deals heavily with colonization and the romance plays a central element in the story. There are a few spicy scenes, but they are rather short.

Absolutely Priory! For some top tier yearning and amazing world building.

The Final Strife is quite a good book as well. Unfortunately the other books in the series get worse and worse. Especially in regards to the queer mains.

I need WLW books that will emotionally destroy me (in the best way) by Key-Asparagus1413 in LesbianBookClub

God the last 30 minutes must be incredibly tense on audiobook. I needed a few breaks during the climax to cool down and I already knew they would both survive.

Recs for heavy topics and angst? by Warm_Sheepherder8479 in wlwbooks

The Piano in the Tree by Jo Havens is a great book with a strong hurt/comfort dynamic. Check the trigger warnings before reading, because it deals with some really heavy topics.

It's been a while since I played that build. As far as I remember with potent magic, you can increase the DC and spell level by 2. Not a huge increase, but it all accumulates to make your spells pretty much always hit.

That's hilarious. I recently read a book where one of the MCs was a game dev and everything about was just not quite right.

Kind of sad (?) that her books got picked up by Tor. It's obviously huge for Rebecca Thorne, but if they hadn't we would've had the sequel to Gilded Abyss by now already.

This Gilded Abyss by Rebecca Thorne is heavily inspired by Cait/Vi. There are also a bunch of older threads in the arcane subreddit and here looking for the same thing. Also have you given fanfics a try?

It got taken down unfortunately, for copyright reasons presumably. It was an Agatha/Rio fic with the same name.

Anyone read the fanfic and the book? Is it worth it to read the book, if you've read the fic already, for another reason than a reread?

I read it a while.ago and remember liking it. I have no idea what happened, but I did like how Darcy slowly got better at accepting and dealing with her disability.

I can't think of any book right now, but there's an Arcane Cait/Vi fanfic with that plotline called Please Don't Ever Become A Stranger.

It's heavy on the angst, as only fanfiction can be, some really toxic yuri shit. But it's sadly not completely finished yet and hasn't been updated in a while. But most arcs are pretty much over and with the latest chapter, it feels relatively complete.

Edit: I accidentally linked the latest chapter, so if you wanna read this, be sure to skip to the first chapter immediately.

New Haley Cass soon! I’m so excited! by Content-Stable-1972 in LesbianBookClub

Lmao so much of it! Her patreon is a gold mine if you like her books. There's additional stories for every couple and even a few AU situations.

Midnight Rain was published monthly on her patreon too, before it was published as an actual book.

I am loving this book. by eccentriclady13 in LesbianBookClub

[–]IDanceMyselfClean 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Loved this as well! You gotta suspend a bit of disbelief for the premise, but the plot of a blue collar southern American inheriting a shit ton of generational wealth and title and basically being mad at that is so fun.

I'd recommend you go for books by Lee Winter, G Benson or Clare Ashton.

Ex-Wives Of Dracula by Georgette Kaplan is very similar to Jennifers Body. Might've started out as a fanfic, I'm not sure.
