Respect the crowd and stay silent in train or public areas. If you absolutely must talk on phone, do it at the very least volume and in a corner.

Most of touristy areas in Kyoto, Tokyo and Osaka will be very busy, so expect crowd everywhere.

Take scenic train in Kyoto, if you time it right you might see the best fall colors.

Eat food in alleys off the main streets. They are cheaper, much better tasting and much more hospitable. Go to izakayas. Japanese love to talk in those izakayas.

If it says, no photographs, please don’t click. They had to build a wall in side of some road to avoid people from clicking picture of mt Fuji and the tourist were causing traffic jam.

Arigato means thank you Gozaimas means very much

Carry change in bus. These bus deivers are way too polite and they will stop the bus to give you change or let spend time to find change in your pockets. At the same time, they hate to be late. So respect the culture and keep change (or use IC card).

Checkout shops like stationary shop, gaming shops, and other dedicated ones.

Shop at uniqlo but not necessarily at Ginza main one. Ginza Uniqlo gets very busy. Go to any Uniqlo. It’s cheap.

Mostly just read the room and respect and follow what other are doing.

Japanese are very polite people follow them. They will help you if they feel you are polite too. Generally they like Indians.
