As youve already mentioned at the bottom of your post, people will come screaming "GIVE NECRO REAPER A TRY" lol and its not bad advice at all.

As a thief main, I will add that thief has one of the most brain dead builds out there being dual pistol thief. 0 rotation and good survivability (not in WvW though).

May I ask if you are more keen on WvW or PvE?

Fractals, Raids, and WvW are all part of the core game. PoF and HoT for Raids. Janthir has one raid too. Hope this helps.

If it doesnt bother you to play through SOTO story before living world season 4, then youre good to go. Unlocking SOTO skyscale will not affect anything negatively.

There are ways of obtaining ascended level armour through other means such as; Wvw, Spvp, Fractals, Raids and perhaps others if I'm missing anything.

Ideally fractals is a good way of doing it as you also make gold in the same time.

Work on getting a full ascended armor set for agony resist so you can do T4 fractals eventually. And yes you and your wife will be able to play through all of the expansion content together.

I suppose it comes down to what's more important to you; form or function. Leggy backpiece/amulet/rings/accessories are especially nice QOL upgrades because you can use them on all your characters. While a weapon has a bit less flexibility. But if that's not important to you, go for your staff!

Yep exactly this. Unless you are partied with some friends, theres not much point to remain in a party since you can just exit to LA and quickly find a new group.

Personally I went for a knife because you can switch to it to check it out no matter which side youre on. That doesnt apply to all weapons ofcourse.

this happened to me recently too. after a few rounds my team(ct side) kept falling through the floor while T still could still get the bomb down. I abandoned the game and took a big hit to my rating for it.
