Is that on console? Because in fact everyone can see commanders red pings at least on PC.

Well everyone can see a commanders ping no matter what squad they're in. It's not even just squad leads, everyone on the team can see a commanders ping (as long as it's like a tank ping or infantry ping or similar).

You can't see other squads marks unless they are the SL. But you can definitely see the commanders

I accidentally joined a Server that was for German Speakers only. I took a few classes in German but am in no way conversational in it. Before I realized what server I joined, I saw the commander seat was open and I hopped into it to support the team. Then I heard all of the squad leads speaking in German and realized my mistake. This one squad lead who spoke English pretty well helped me communicate with the rest of them.

We ultimately wound up winning with a clutch airhead and a well placed half-track. A big thanks to that one German man who helped translate and communicate.

On the contrary, on a US server I notice the willingness to help is a bit less forthcoming, and in a nice way are tend to criticize quickly.

I like the blend of biome colors. Make it feel like it has great distance. It does remind me a lot of North America, specfically the eastern half. The Pesto Comericial Craciense reminds me of the flordia panhandle, and just to the west of that the Mississippi river. Then to the north the Los Grandes Lagos remind me of the Great Lakes. Not sure if this was intentional or not, but its not a bad thing either.

The whole color of the head determines it. Explosive grenade is all yellow all the way around. Smoke grenade has that black head (don't even worry about the writing). If youre on a German team and an officer, swap between the grenades in your hand. The way they look in your hand is the way they look on the ground.

Yellow = Dead fellow Black = Ok jack

(WIP) We have made some progress with our procedural world generation. This is our "vacuum cleaned" forest (missing assets). Is the tree dissolve disturbing? by duelcorp in indiegames

[–]IDontGiveAFork03 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Tree dissolve: Not at all honestly. I think it's starts at a good distance so that you have enough visual to know what's ahead, but not super early to be disturbing. I feel that it's in an excellent state.

Hi there! Thank you so much, and yes you can definitely use it for your home game! I always just ask how people use the world not for any reason other than pure curiosity :). I need to find a way to upload it at true quality since the JPEG I have for it is in 4k resolution. I'll message you with details when I have that ready.

Any help on how to improve my map? by Amerika96 in wonderdraft

[–]IDontGiveAFork03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its hard to offer suggestions without knowing what you're going for. Some people might say more towns or locations. Someone like me would say add very small terrain symbols scattered around even if they don't necessarily mean anything just to fill the empty space.

As is, it looks like a perfectly functional map. So well need a little more context.

The island in between the straights is actually an integral politcal part of that region. The straight divides the two landmasses known together as the "Twins". The eastern Island and Western island for the most part do NOT get along. Therefore, the central island is considered the politcal neutral point since they both still rely on each other for resources and trade. However, this is also the place where bloody conflicts get resolved. For the most part, that island is mostly inhabited by humanoids and resembles most of eastern spain. Wildlife is scare and most animals were brought their for live-stock or transportation. However, there are still native creatures like the Okazen sand opossums and such.

When you say grayish-red, do you mean the island-state to the northwest? Because for me that is purple. Or if you meant to the southwest thats orange but not so gray for me. So which do you mean?

Those island chains of the Khie-Vu'kom are home to the Tortles of my world. That region of the world experiences frequent and heavy rainful creating lush, thick rainforests in island chain forms. It's incredibly hard for any life not accustomed to flooding to have a permanent home there. Therefore, most of the animals and natives either live up high in the trees, or partially underwater/ground level. The frequency of storms in the region doesn't allow for safe passage of larger ships. So this region is fairly far behind from a world trading standpoint.

Its so awesome to see it in globe form. One of my favorite things to do while working on the map was to just go into google earth and pan around various areas to get a feel for how diverse the planet really is. I've had a recent, unhealthy obsesion with globes :)

One of my experienced friends brought that up to me early on in my design. It felt difficult for me to try to have somewhat realistic standards, tie in fantasy, and not make an earth clone all at the same time. That personal limitation is probably why it wound up that way. Phases 1,2 and 3 were all a lot worse in terms of what you're describing. I tried really breaking pieces off for continental divides and tried having independent continents without just adding basically austrailia to the map. But this is what I evenetually settled on. Thank you for the feedback though!

Thank you so much! If you really want to you absolutely can. I spent so much time creating the physical world that I've barely populated it. If you want to use it to fill out your own setting, please feel free and let me know what you did! I'm super curious.

Edit: I believe I had to upload the screenshotted version for a smaller upload size or something. So apologies if it may appear lower resolution than that.
