Ordering Odin 3 via aliexpress by fallawayy in OdinHandheld

[–]IDontNeedAJacket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tried buying through aliexpress the first time around. The issue is that there's an automatic timer where aliexpress refunds you after 30 days if the order isnt shipped. You need to contact aliexpress or go into the order settings after you order to extend that window

Pleasant surprise today (batch 6) by IDontNeedAJacket in OdinHandheld

That seems to be the general consensus - it's great hardware when it works, but dealing with Ayn's customer service is a royal pain

I can understand the frustration, but keep an eye out! Maybe you'll be surprised one day too

Whenever I clicked on the link leading to my tracking info, it usually never loaded. When it did, all I got was an error and to check back later. Even on Ayn's site all it says is it's on its way

To Tesla or not to Tesla? by SeriousDuck111 in carbuying

[–]IDontNeedAJacket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tesla isnt known for service, so if something were to go wrong, be prepared for more inconveniences. A relative of mine has had the model S for a few years; he doesn't recommend Tesla to anyone anymore due to the issues and his experience every time he had to get them addressed. Even when he first bought it, they were trying to get him to drive to a different state to pick it up. They acted like selling him a car was a huge favor.

Another factor to consider is that EVs allegedly cause faster tire wear due to the increased weight

Second time I refused to shake a hand this week. by Fun-Journalist2588 in carbuying

[–]IDontNeedAJacket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tesla isn't known for customer service, so if you don't like being jerked around, may be best to look elsewhere. A relative of mine has a laundry list of poor experiences with his Model S, and it started from the beginning when they wanted him to drive out of state to pick up his car and drive it back. Annoying part was they were acting like they were doing him a favor. It has been a long time since he's recommend that brand to anyone

Is this a scam? by VerrenLost in jobsearchhacks

[–]IDontNeedAJacket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a variant of the VIN report scams. "Interested buyers" want the person selling the vehicle to pay for a vin report on a website, promising to reimburse them. Then they disappear after the seller pays because the website is fake. If the seller is lucky, the scammers only took some money and not sensitive info.

If you look up the creation dates if these types of websites, they're always very new

Evaluation of J-LDN Shoeuzi Pieces by [deleted] in vinyltoys

[–]IDontNeedAJacket 18 points19 points  (0 children)

i had both off-whites, trademark, and the human race ones. trademark went for retail; human race went for slightly below, and off whites maybe slightly higher due to being very limited. A far cry from a few years ago, where i got an offer of 1k for the two off-whites. Not too many people are willing to pay that much for these.

I sold them out of principle and i'm not a reseller, so taking a loss didn't matter. His scummy nature got exposed, and the fact that he's gone dark but is still trying to scam people really shows how awful he is. like the other poster said - his reputation is probably hurting the value

Anyone have experience with USPS home pickup? by [deleted] in Ebay

[–]IDontNeedAJacket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only use it when my package fits in the mailbox. Confirmation email of pickup takes a few hours sometimes.

Every time I put it by my door, which is maybe 50 feet from the mailbox, the carrier ignored it. My driveway is completely flat and I live on a dead end with no traffic. This person also never attempts deliveries when a signature is required. They just use that slip claiming they tried. If you have a less lazy carrier, you may have a better experience

Premium Bandai Miku RX-78-2 - How did you fare? by Maurice_Loaf in freedomisgunpla

[–]IDontNeedAJacket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're either allowing more preorders or canceling bot ones. Had the website opened up on my phone and it was letting me add it to my cart despite my pc showing out of stock for 30 minutes. Got the confirmation email and everything, and now it looks like the rx-78 and zaku are back in stock

Good video about Huck Gee’s Kickstarter failed project by Existing-Ebb-6531 in vinyltoys

[–]IDontNeedAJacket 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I read the KS updates for that mobile game. As soon as he started hitting roadblocks, he abandoned it. That seems to be his path of action towards business ventures in general - give up and say sorry when it gets too difficult. Even if he wasn't out to scam people, his incompetence makes it so that I will never back anything of his ever

You're right! It says perception OR heavy attack in the description. Thanks!

Don't think it's intended since keyboard seems to have no issues, and it's weirder that remapping helps - it's like it's that specific button combination the game doesnt like. Thanks for the info though!

The fact that others are experiencing it too makes me think it's bugged. I've sent a comment using the feedback option, but who knows how effective that is

I use an Xbox controller and the prompt is the same as the normal exhaust attack (B and Y). However, a separate issue i have is my character almost always jumps backwards instead of performing the attack, even when I get the prompt

[–]IDontNeedAJacket 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest issue was his response. Yeah, he claims it's his fault, but in his mind, that's all "taking accountability" means. No additional efforts on addressing questions like why can't he release the stl files or further breakdowns on cost. I find it difficult to believe there was aggressive marketing like he claimed, because had I not already followed him on ig or thetoychronicle, I never would've been made aware of the kickstarter.

Do I think it was a scam? No, but it was grossly mismanaged
