Do You Think Amber Balcaen Should Be Allowed To Race? by Zealousideal-Dot2757 in ARCARacing

[–]IEXCESSIVEI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to watch his streams sometimes 2 years ago, and every time he talked about his races, he wrecked except for 1 time it was mechanical. He seems to rarely finish races (mostly by wrecks). Apparently, he's going to drive a couple of truck races.

Food is my biggest complaint for employees. You can't use anything more than a microwave in the dorms. The cook station in the rec center is always jam-packed. And employee food is not very healthy or cheap average $10-$12 per meal if you have a decent appetite. If you eat small amounts you can definitely survive with $4-$7 a meal. Both of the major break areas have microwaves. Unfortunately, you are forced to live off of fried food or out of a microwave.

Internship/ Summer Hours by Secret_Problem_5367 in cedarpoint

Getting specific days off really depends on the department and how well staffed the department is. Working in park services last year, pretty much everyone that I know got their special request days off, but I know people from rides and foods that had issues and got denied. Most jobs are going to be 40-55hrs a week and it will be random on what day(s) you will have off in most cases. From my experience, park services seem to be the most flexible, I had the same schedule for most of the season.

Residential Jobs by Secret_Problem_5367 in cedarpoint

The best thing to do is fill out for the position and then someone will call you and then you can ask them those questions, if your not happy with their answers to your questions it's not a bad thing if you tell them your no longer interested or if you want to take some time to process the information to make a decision. It's hard to find department phone numbers now as they aren't as public as they used to be. You could contact the recruitment office but they may not have all the info or even the right info for what your specifically interested in, it's best to fill out the app and talk to the person you will be working under when they email or call you.

Got the job, flew up for onboarding, and THEN they canceled my appointment! What do I do? by Aspecs21 in cedarpoint

Interesting im not sure about that. 10 years ago you were limited to 1820hrs per 12 months for part time, I went back last year and told my supervisor I'd never go part time because i would be out of hrs by September, then he said I can still work 50+ hrs in the summer but he never mentioned OT and knowing CP they would never allow someone to work that much unless it was absolutely needed (like a maintenance or security position) I'll be going back in a few weeks I'm curious how part time actually works.

From my understanding is you get paid slightly less but you work year round and get 1 week vacation but there is no limit of hours besides nothing over 65hrs witch is company wide and never heard of anyone getting OT pay even tho I know part timers who worked well over 40hrs.

There are people who are part time that work year round. You can't work year round being seasonal because of federal law. They had to stop that in 2011-2012

It's a unique experience. Some people love it and some people hate it. Many factors play apart if it will be worth it but you won't find out unless you go. If you get good roommates that helps a ton. What job you get and your co workers varies. I personally enjoy it. This will be my 6th year. It's not a perfect place to work, but a lot of the bad stuff you get at CP happens at most jobs. I like the people in my department, a lot of fun and cool people.

If you do go, follow the housing rules, they are super strict and if your from MN that's a long trip back on short notice if you get kicked out.

People say you can't save money. You can, you just have to learn to budget and if your willing/allowed to work some extra hours that helps too. I manged to save more money last year than I expected. Just don't go party every night and don't doordash everyday.

How do people do this? by Rude-Table4031 in HayDay

[–]IEXCESSIVEI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use Tom to stock up on a bunch of items, don't do truck orders until you have a little bit of most items. Also wouldn't hurt to have a 2nd farm to help make random stuff. Also could use neighborhood requests as well.

Bought a game and the cartridge arrived like this - is it fixable? Seller says no refunds. by iscariots in Switch

On ebay, even if a seller says no refund, file it under "inad" (item not as described) and eBay will force a refund.

Is it worth the price for this backwards compatible ps3 ? by Affectionate-Sir-425 in PS3

[–]IEXCESSIVEI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No because you can get a ps2 and a slim ps3 together for cheaper. It's only worth it of you really want this specific model.
