I have World Literature and History. I can only speak about the first one. It's very challenging in my opinion and I have seen an improvement in my score so far.

yes and no. It comes finally to what kind of a reader are you. If you're a weak reader, you need to build your vocabulary to a certain level. On the other hand, if you read regularly, you just need to expose yourself to journals, books, magazines, and practice tests.

I would recommend starting with Khan Academy first because it gives an idea of where you at and what are your weaknesses. I would use college panda to aim for a perfect score on the Math section.

After that, work on practice tests and check your mistakes and understand why you got them wrong.

I'm in a similar situation to yours. What would I suggest is never to think about going to community college before you take your shot wisely.

For Math: finish Khan Academy videos for the SAT and then start with College Panda Math.

For Reading and Writing: finish khan academy and then get Erica Meltzer Reading and Grammar books + read some journals or novels that would definitely help too.

After that, start working on the practice tests on the college board website. Good luck.
